In no way am I comparing O to Saban, but over time Saban has proven he’s a better coach today than he was when he was at LSU. So, why is it just assumed that O isn’t a better coach than he was at OM? People still think of him as the failure he was then. He’s not Saban, but he’s much better than what he was.

I believe he has done a nice job to this point. The players play hard for him. He doesn’t panic. Offense is improving. Recruiting is going well. Went toe to toe with the #2 team in the country. Yes he lost to Troy, but Saban lost to UAB and ULM.

most believe he's better than he was then but the question is how much better? Enough to win championships at LSU? If he goes 8-4 or 9-3 every year that's an improvement from Ole Miss but is that really enough? Is that our ambition?

So he’s mediocre now? Because he was OM’s worst coach ever. The fact that he has to rely on elite coordinators on both sides of the ball is not a recipe for long term success.

Patience grasshopper. Let’s see how it plays out. Give him another year or so and we’ll see.

He isn't doing too bad but he isn't doing too good either. We have had one quality win this year and two horrific losses. O has a long way to go to prove he was the right hire.

Oregeron is doing about as I would have expected: the team has some good games, the team has some bad games. They were inconsistent under his leadership last year, and they're inconsistent now.

Do I think LSU would be better off under the guidance of Herman or Fisher? Yes, I believe that 100%.

As long as O keeps getting recruits, I'm happy. I don't think he'll last 3+ years as the head coach, so my primary worry is that he can set up his replacement with a full cupboard.

He's earned a B in his first year. You should never lose to Miss St by 35 and at home to Troy.

I just screamed at you in my head. On what planet do you lose those two games and still get a B? Apparently my criteria for a B is much higher than yours.

O got hit in the face early, but has keep this team together and playing well now. You forget that he is a first year coach and we got striped mined last year with starters and backup who are starting and on NFL rosters. We are also playing 20 true freshmen. You are a downer person.

Man we love a good redemption story don't we?

I can see Orgeron getting hit in the mouth every year early and then rallying the boys later. Then it'll be "man, wait until next year when Orgeron puts together a whole season, Championship baby!"

We always have a lot of turnover. That's the job. Next year will be no different.

Herman took over a shite show, Fleck started 1-11 at WMU and eventually got them to the cotton bowl after a few years, Fisher's starting QB went down in week 1 and is a proven winner. Orgeron was already in the program.
The big thing is that those three are proven winners and deserve patience. Orgeron is a proven loser.
I'd take any of these three over Orgeron.

Coach is a strong word for what he is.

He's present when coaching is happening around him.

Why would Aranda want to stick around and ruin his career?

How is he doing that. He has the #17 defense and he's playing a ton of freshman.

Yeah, two stinkers in his entire career, 7 years apart of each other.

Troy and MSU were two weeks apart.

Prior to LSU, Saban was one of the hottest names in the country. He was a winner and worked his way up. Orgeron was a loser and was already in the program. That loss to Troy is unforgivable.
Quit trying to compare Saban to Orgeron. Please. Saban is light years better than Orgeron. Saban is one of the greatest to do it, Orgeron (statistically) is one of the worst to do it.

O's going to be here the next couple of years at least so may as well wait and see what happens. If we finish 10-3 and pick up a little bit in recruiting we'll have some momentum going into 2018 where we get back to 4 SEC home games & get bama here.

When Miles was fired, LSU was a top 6 school for a college coach

If its not, where would you rank LSU?
