In hindsight, Coach Oregeron isn't doing so bad

Let's look at three of the LSU fan favorite coaching choices from the last off-season:
1) Tom Herman: Record this season: 4-5. He may well turn Texas around eventually, but even he is no magician in his first year at a top-tier program. Currently below 0.500.
2) Jimbo Fisher: Record this season: 3-5. 4 years removed from a BCS NC, he is no quarterback whisperer based on how this season is unfolding. Again below 0.500.
3) PJ Fleck: Record this season: 4-5. Took a Minnesota team that won 9 games last year and is currently sitting at less than 0.500.
Doesn't mean Joe Alleva was right in not doing any semblance of a head coaching search, but things could have gone uglier for LSU this season.
If somehow LSU is able to keep CEO, Aranda and Canada together for 2 more seasons, we might win a SEC championship in one of those years....maybe even make the playoffs with a shot at a NC.

So what you're saying is time to give Alleva an extension?

Alleva sucks!
Coach O got blown out at Miss. State, lost to Troy at homecoming and got handled by alabama. Five games into the season his offensive lineman said some guys don’t know the playbook and he said he didn’t know what RB was starting a game. We legitimately didn’t think we were going to a bowl game this year after four games. But yeah, he’s doing a good job because Texas and Minnesota are bad.
Just stop it man, just stop it.

He hasn't done awful, but I wouldn't give him an extension just yet
He's earned a B in his first year. You should never lose to Miss St by 35 and at home to Troy.

Meh, he is going to have to change up his offseason conditioning plan. The team was woefully unprepared to start the season. Add Troy to that and he is not getting higher than a C+ no matter how he finishes.

Bump this thread about 2 years from now

You guys hired a guy that has no specialty. His biggest selling point was that he wouldn’t meddle with the offense or defense, and he’d let his coordinators coach.
A figurehead is great if you have an 80 year old bobby Bowden or joe paterno who settles into that position after decades. You don’t hire a figurehead, especially one with the resume of Ed Orgeron.
Pat haden’s hiring of clay Helton at usc was awful. The orgeron hiring was much worse.

Why would Aranda want to stick around and ruin his career? Canada is overrated.

My god you people are idiots.
Les Miles would have had his damn house set a blaze if he ever had a season like this.
But he wasn't a good ole boy so everything he doesn't is peaches and cream

Should have at least interviewed Gary Patterson or hired him.

O got hit in the face early, but has keep this team together and playing well now. You forget that he is a first year coach and we got striped mined last year with starters and backup who are starting and on NFL rosters. We are also playing 20 true freshmen. You are a downer person.

even the announcers were curious why the QB change late in the 4th quarter only down by 14.

Your comparison of records is dumb. Check out the recruiting rankings of Texas with Herman there for short time. LSU has top ten talent.

If Patterson was going to leave TCU, he would have done it by now. I think he retires there.

herman is actually doin a nice job at Texas
They will be a contender soon if this season is any indication
Also that recruiting class is elite

This shite has been happening for 10 years. It's not an excuse anymore
First year coach? What's that mean and is that an excuse?
You don't hire a coach for a top 6 school and give him a 1st year excuse with the position we were in
