Not against Bama, yet somehow that's not his fault, but the other games count in his favor. If you wanna examine it fairly give him credit or don't, but just be consistent. You can't ignore his worst game and place blame elsewhere when you gave him all the credit for the offense in the other games. It's not a fair assessment.

It's impossible to determine this. How important is coach O in preparation, motivating, etc? He doesn't call the plays, but what does he do for preparation during the week and how much of that was to blame?

Aranda credit for great defense?
Pretty much the same thing here. Except Aranda has more authority than SE. But obviously O is responsible for the motivating factor.

well, yea

their offense was terrible and it took Kiffin 3.5 quarters to figure out that designed QB runs were better than Hurts throwing the ball at all

Kiffin sucked balls that game

you can still suck while going up against a quality team

both offenses were hard to watch

He doesn't really get credit for either and that's the point.

Aranda is a beast. Ensminger isn't.

If all O can do is say "ok looks good" to the offense/defense plan then he isn't HC material.

I'm picturing O saying this

it honestly seems realistic

I don't understand how this concept is lost on so many people.

I would hope any head coach would be involved in the gameplan but still allow the oc to call the game. We are limited with our oline and etling...those are facts

The worse part of that game was, we knew our Oline sucked, and we knew they were going to stack the box to contain LF.

Instead of trying plays that hide our weaknesses, we played right into their hands, like we have the past 4 years. No quick passes, no screens, no spread, no sweeps, no trick plays. OM, aTm, and Clemson have shown us how to score against Bama, but we ignored it completely.

Everyone is putting the failure on the Oline or Etling...but the coaching staff is 100% to blame for not adapting.

From the first offensive series, i knew we were doomed.

I agree with that.

This is so much better than arguing over firing Miles with beefense.

Which is not a good enough reason to keep him as HC.

When you're a "hands off, let my coordinators coordinate" kind of coach, you put yourself in a position to get most of the blame and little of the accolades. If they consistently mess up their jobs, ie offensive game plan against Bama or Tre White returning punts, it's the head coach's job to make the correction for them.
