O was the HC. Aranda's defense was playing lights out, so needed no input. Ensminger's offense was getting creamed and needed help and HC input that never materialized. So, yeah, O helped with the defense by letting Aranda do his job but failed the offense by not getting involved. A HC is ultimately responsible for the whole package. O failed.

When making final calls and providing in game input and adjustments O is lost. That is why he can hope for superior play calling from his OC. But he will not be able to offer solid advice or make it a point on what adjustments would be needed at HT. Jimbo, Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer etc are coaches who can. That is one of many key differences between an elite complete HC and an elite recruiter TRYING to be an elite sidelines coach.

I'll always root for LSU and will find a way to spin it as a positive no matter who we hire, because life is short and I love the Tigers

but I want a Head fricking Coach who crushes offense

I pray for it every night

We are Sabans bitch

Thats exactly my point. We have been for 4 years. Why not try something different? We fired les because he refused to change the offense even a little. The O did the same exact thing.

Ensminger had been adding plays to the playbook since he and O started....AND THEY WERE WORKING. Plus, we had an extra two weeks to add a few wrinkles.

We ran ZERO of those plays, ZERO wrinkles.

You should be. If anyone thinks it was a "right" running back they are retarded. You coulda put Barry Sanders in there, nothing was gonna change.

Can't throw it, can't get off press, can't protect long enough to run multiples.

Until we can incorporate some realistic zone read looks, with a threat in a RPO, AND force BAMA to blitz we will not beat em.

These things can not be fixed by anyone in 3-4 weeks mid season.

O is a defensive coach so I am just trying to establish the ground rules here.

O gets credit for not ensuring a solid offensive gameplan was in place with Two weeks of preparation! O gets credit for abysmal time management during that game.....but yeah he can have credit for motivation and D line stuff.

I agree with that

Retaining Aranda is obviously very important

Are you convinced O can fix any of those things? He's never been in a role that required him meddle with offense.

If you are convinced, what is it about him that makes you sure he can do it?

This is just bullshite. First off, O had been coach for 6 weeks, with 2 two week breaks in there. That is ample time to install at least a few plays that get the ball out quick, to protect the oline.

They had ALREADY implemented those types of plays against Mizzou and Ole Miss. You don't remember him running a more west coast style for those games? The Bama comes, and we revert right back to dives and bombs.

spose you just skipped over the part where our receivers couldn't get off press, and with pressure coming from four underneath coverage was all over the quick slants

Wtf do yall see when you watch?

What we had to do, we aren't capable of.

obviously

but it doesn't change the fact that Guice should have gotten more carries

Fournette has been banged up all year

Fournette was healthy and off a game where he broke big plays, putting your HOMERUN threat on the bench makes no sense.

Yes I am aware Guicecwent for 96, but LF has consistently broke games open for us.

A big LF run was our only hope

Actual game planning aside, did you just declare that what we did against Mizzou woulda applied to Bama?

Fournette was missing open lanes and cuts. I am of the line of thinking that he could have used a breather and someone, Frank, to calm his nerves.

Possibly, but it's hindsight

And a deck chairs in the Titanic issue.

O isn't my pick, but for the most part LSU football has been more fun to watch in the last 5 games than the last 4 years.

I can see a valid opinion that O would do a good job.
