I'll say this about Riley...

...and you can take it for whatever you want.
I was at a function tonight full of lobbyists and state legislators and big-time business guys who have suites in Tiger Stadium and they all seemed to think Riley is the guy.
Could be they all heard the same bullshite rumor or maybe one of them looked at this board. But they were talking about it and they were pretty stoked.
Doesn't mean it's real. But I would call this some smoke.

Last week it was Jimbo, this week is Riley, I will omly believe it if it actually happens.

The Jimbo smoke last week was a clear attempt to disrupt their huge recruiting weekend. It clearly didn’t work but that was the play.

The smoke is Woodward circling back around to the elite candidates and trying to get deals done again. He has to go to the BOS and key boosters before throwing out huge numbers. Those numbers have kept going up.

Really? Because I was at one last weekend with JBE and the consensus amongst the everyone at the event was that Jimbo was the guy.

Are you fricking serious? There is no way that at this level, SW has to get amounts approved by the BOS, without having already have budgetary numbers in place. You have no idea how all this works. Until you come with something concrete, your word means shite.

I think a week ago that was right.
But last night it wasn't.
Jimbo is sitting on so much land in Texas right now that it might cost more to move him than it would Riley. And the story I heard from one of the folks last night is Riley was pretty put out over the Spencer Rattler business. All of a sudden it's "I don't need any of this crap."
You never know what to believe. But that's what these guys were saying last night.

He has bosses you fricking retard. People he has to answer to. He’s not some gunslinging freelancer. He has to keep everyone informed about discussions. Woodward already has the money raised by boosters for whoever he wants to get but everyone is kept in the know.

Where do you think accurate numbers about the supposed contract are coming from? Where do you think the talk about Jimbo and Riley is coming from?
The numbers are being bounced around and off of those guys, their camps, and their agents. And the results of those discussions are reported back to a decent amount of people on the LSU side.
Not only that, the agents involved with those discussions tell their other clients that this is how much LSU is about to drop, we can ask for this much if we contact them about the job, and we can ask for this much for a raise from our current school.
It’s all interconnected you frickwit. I’m really getting tired of bringing basic information to the low IQ fools on this board and being shite on.
Y’all think there’s “smokescreens” you think Woodward can just get anyone. You think coaches are dragging their dicks through broken glass for this job. Some of y’all even believe that a memorandum of understanding or even a coaching contract has already been inked.
