Your message implied that he has to get approval from BOS for a contact amoun. He has the numbers and acts in the best interest of LSU. He does not have to run to his bosses to get the dollars approved. He has had preliminary negotiations and feelers with agents, and knows what the market will bare. That is why I said you have no idea how this works. This is way above your pay grade.

That’s literally what the BOS does. They’ve given him numbers they are comfortable with, and once he gets a guy to agree to those numbers it then goes in front of the BOS to vote yay or nay.

So you agree with what I said. He has the numbers he needs prior to vetting a hire. The hire and SW agree to an amount. The sign off on it was not what I was speaking to. It was the fact that SW does not play this "let me check with my boss game" while negotiating a deal.

He has to keep them informed. The money is already there.
ETA: the point of all of this is that that’s where you’re getting the majority of the noise about Jimbo and Riley. They’re being kept in the loop about “talks” and how much money they’re mentioning. I don’t even think this happened yesterday or a day before. The talks with Riley and Jimbo have been happening for a while and the price has gone up after each discussion because it wasn’t moving the needle. Both will be extremely expensive to get out of their respective situation.
