There’s no reason to believe Kiffin even wants to hire him until proven otherwise. It was nothing more than wishful thinking on the part of Orgeron’s psychopath loyalists.

Because he’s not that good of a coach anymore.

Coach O has recruited and coached 12 future first round draft choices at the D-line position(s).

And yet no one wants to hire him and the only reason he’s actively looking for a job is because he’s blown through his buyout.

My guess is that friendship is more on ed’s side and less on Lanes side. Ed may value that friendship a bit more, if you get my drift

So O won’t forget he’s not the head coach and Kiffin won’t have to fire him for overstepping in some way.

If he is involved at all he will be a glorified service monkey for Lane.

Lane's own personal Sherpa guiding him to good cajun food and big tittied blondes. Make sure he is happy off the filed and run cover for him when the lines get blurry.

Have you ever seen a President of the United States serve in someone else's cabinet AFTER their time as President?

why isn't he on staff? ... Is LSU saying O can't come back?

LK was given full authority to hire or fire anyone he wanted, including Frank, Raymond, Baker, and Austin Thomas. Thankfully, LK is keeping Baker and Raymond. If he wanted O on staff, he'd be on the staff. Maybe that is b/c O would be a distraction. Maybe it's b/c O hasn't coached D-Linemen in almost 10 years. Maybe it's b/c he sees that O only started really looking for work once his paycheck had stopped.

Not sure if it’s rare in coaching. HC just fired at VT just got hired back under Franklin.

Coach O just said in an interview he has not been offered a job by Lane. But they are good friends.

This makes all the sense in the world.

I don’t know O, never met him. But I have several CLOSE friends JUST like him.

I love ‘em. No frickin way I’d bring ‘em on where I work.

Because LSU said no way in hell is that guy going to be a coach here again. They know what he did.

I'm considered a cheerio or whatever and the smart move is hiring the best active DL coach he can get. Since it sounds like Robinson is out, move on to the next highest guy.

I don't think Orgeron has that fire anymore. The fact his last paycheck from LSU is paid out this month and all of a sudden, he's everywhere talking about coaching again after 4 years of doing nothing, kinda gives the impression that he wants to coach again for the wrong reasons.
