They will interview Golding but I don’t see him getting the job. Ole Miss will try to make a big hire.

His wife is an Ole Miss grad. Her parents live down the street from them. The family has donated enough money to the university that part of the accounting building is named after them.

He wants to stay in Oxford

You pay a guy $14-15mil per year, he gets to buy his own groceries. You don’t force him to take staff. Hopefully he retains a few guys but no one should stand in his way for any hire he wants to make. No point in paying him the money and then handcuffing him with staff.

it seems Golding and Lane are friends and it will be a package deal. How would everyone feel if Golding was our DC? Also Lane loves his RB and DB coaches which are the two coaches LSU can’t afford to lose in Frank and Raymond for recruiting. Moscona also said Lane is likely to bring his GM at Ole Miss so that likely pushes Austin Thomas out which is a mistake IMO.

Well shite, in that case, let’s just rehire Kelly so we can keep some of our assistant coaches and our overrated GM

He’s probably hoping he gets a shot at HC. If that changes, he’ll probably change his mindset.

Obviously things change and who knows with coach speak, but he's said multiple times over the last couple years he doesn't have interest in being a HC

Then you have to worry about your head coaching hire and if he’ll be on board with being forced a coordinator. You don’t want that.

The good news is that Lane is leaving yall in a great position and landing spot. As long as you clean up this ultimatum garbage. That was stupid. Thankfully I think yall wised up.

No Golding.

My biggest fear is we don't go back to being mean and physical but more finesse with Kiffin
