Petrino is an interesting one if thwt happens. He is just the kind of asswipe the lunatic fringe would love. If he wins, they'll let him hire all the damn vollyball admins he wants.

I would imagine the preferred candidate would have previous head coaching experience. I don't think Carroll would leave the situation he's in now. Strong might because he might realize what type of bowl 11-1 gets him at Louisville compared to Alabama. I know they're going to the ACC, but I don't think they'll be at the top like they are in the AAC. Obviously we won't need to worry about this because Saban's staying.

Dabo would jump if offered.
I'm in the camp that if Clemson continues it's success with Dabo, it'll be down to Kirby and Dabo when Saban retires.

Coach O would be on the short list. He'd take his shirt off and have them doing push-ups at the press conference. Would be a perfect fit at Alabama. Probably could find a spot for Harvey Updyke somewhere on his staff.

Franklin or Shaw would be really good at Bama...scary good. Dabo would suck...Kirby would suck...Gary Patterson would be good...I could see a move for an NFL guy as well...like Del Rio or Mike Smith
