Now this would be funny, from an internet/media buzz point of view.
DKR is going to look a bit empty next year if ol butter tooth is the one leading them out of the tunnel.

Traffic slowing down here? Perfect time to throw some fresh bullshite on the fire imho.

I'm not so sure you are correct about that. Bama could match up to 8mil easily. And realistically, I don't see the numbers going over that.

I think the kicker is the up front bonus money from the boosters.

Mack has always wanted to coach through the 2014 season because
Darrell Royal - 167
Mack Brown - 158
That's why Mack wants one more year. If they win less than 10 next year, he'll want another.

If Texas goes big, Bama can't afford to match it.
The kind of 'big' that would keep Bama from being able to offer something comparable would have to be pretty astronomical. I guess it all depends on the validity, and continued existence, of Saban's much-talked-about debt.

Beat me to it.

Alabama has promised to make Saban the highest paid coach in the country.

Has anyone considered that Chicken, and not Jimmy Sexton, is driving all this in order to increase traffic to Tigerdroppings? Thus, increasing the likelihood he'd get an offer to take over for shaggybevo.

quote:right...Bill Powers needs to sign the offer and he will not (cannot) do that until Mack is officially done. And Alabama cannot counter anything because there hasn't been a formal offer made by Texas. The contract sitting on Saban's desk now is essentially outdated and worthless...that's why he hasn't signed it.
Without an 'official' deal from Texas to be countered, they can not realistically make an offer that would fulfill this promise. Until Brown steps down, and Texas makes their offer known, Alabama can not put their own deal on the table.

Well, if the UT people are as crazy as people have been saying who really knows. Those cats could shoot for the stars.

Didn't read any of that. Was too busy having a staring contest with your avi.

Most likely. However, the market-rate for that title will almost certainly change after Texas has made their offer.

And a meltdown point of view.

Saban needs to tell them both to write their best offers on a blank piece of paper and slide it across to him. Face down. It could be covered live by both SEC network and Longhorn network. Now thats reality tv.

I said in another thread, the state of Texas is gonna detach and fall into the Gulf if they don't all stop backpedaling at the same time.

So more blah and a little bleh.
Saban to UT at 50% sounds like more of the same backtracking and back pedaling I've been hearing on this board all morning. The jig is up, the news is out. HeStayin
