Jimbo = End of LSU football as a football power

It would be an underwhelming hire but that’s a bit dramatic

I so hope you are wrong. He is not gonna get the job done. There are better... Much better.

I'll quit watching and supporting the product. I'm no fan. I'm definitely not a fan of good ole boy friendships, which is exactly what this would be.

How is Jimbo not sexy? Just beat bama, is a great developer of qbs, saban called him the best OC he ever had!

I think more and more posters are warming up to the fact that it's probably going to be Jimbo, others aren't

People that understand football would be happy with Jimbo.

From what I've gathered, it seems like a large group of people think he's going to be Les Miles 2.0, which just isn't the case, like I've said before, he is not my go to or favorite hire, but I fully believe he'd win a championship here within 2-3 years.

So one of the best ADs in the country. And one of the top coaches, and highest paid in the country, would only get the job because of a good ole boy friendship?

There are only 3 guys with more college rings than Jimbo, and 1 of them is also friends with Scott. So by your logic, if Saban wanted LSU, he should never be hired again?

Facts being what they are

He took Florida State at their peak and left them as they are now, not even a thought among football powers

He took A&M with top 5 resources and hired as a top 5 coach investment. Currently, no none would think of A&M's performances as up to that standard.

Charlie Mac Les Miles all over again

I think all of that is a fair assessment of jimbo...but I just can't see it being him.

It would be miles with a slightly better offense. Which, hey...the first 8ish years were fun, in a scratch your eyeballs out kind if way.

Eta - if he came here and did really well (like NCs plural), I don't think you would have to worry about him leaving. Kinda like saban at bama. It would be his final destination, which would be refreshing in a way.

Where was A&M ranked in the final polls last year?

Settle down man. Did you watch when O was coach? Because O isn't even on the same planet as Jimbo
