I mean, it’s gonna be Jimbo. Accept it, even if you don’t want to

I have no sauces whatsoever. Just reading the tea leaves and using common sense, it just seems obvious it’s gonna be him. He’s way down my list—not sexy at all—but the sexy guys just aren’t coming. They have no real reason to. I’d rather take a chance on a high ceiling guy like Aranda or Napier, but I think Woody wants a high floor guy.

And say what you will, but Jimbo is very competent and has almost no chance of fricking up the program. He’s not gonna turn into Saban—which is why so many of us would rather take a chance on high ceiling guys like Aranda (my #1), Napier, Riley (won’t leave), and the like—but Jimbo is a conservative—and attainable—choice that has put together a staff that’s recruiting well at A&M, so he’ll have even more talent at LSU. And he’ll recruit some good QBs, develop them, and if the move re-energizes him, he may could win an NC or 2 in 10 years. Which would be great. And we’ll probably never have a season worse than 8-4. Again, he ain’t sexy, and he ain’t my pick, but I think the writing’s on the wall it’s gonna be him.

Obviously, I want it to be Aranda, but any of them would be a major improvement over the current LSU head coach.

It's either Jimbo or Riley, one I'm ecstatic about, the other not so much.

Definitely seems to be trending that way. I don’t think it’s a great hire but we won’t be terrible like we’ve been the last 2 years so

So it's back to Jimbo Day? Mike Scarborough believes the top guy is Cristobol at Oregon.

I’ve tried to lie to myself that it’s gonna be somebody else, but I’m not sure I can anymore. Considering what we know, it just seems to be becoming more and more obvious.

Coaches that have developed their own quality programs arent jumping to LSU.

Jimbo just seems to have that LSU itch, for whatever reason

not sure how it seems "obvious" to you. Of course he will be a very high rated target but it's not like aTm isn't going to go back with their own response in the hypothetical bidding war. they like their coach alot and presumably especially do not want to lose him to LSU. they have assloads of $$$$$ and it's not "obvious" he would just up and leave to LSU.

im going to assume he is woodwards top choice but im also assuming woodward has to also approach it like he will have to go to option 2 (ex: tucker/riley/fleck/etc).

for the record i do not really want Riley. he's a huge name but thinking some of the "smaller"/less accomplished coaches would do bigger things at LSU than he would.

Yeah I think timing wise and resume wise it’s what Woodward wants

Like you said the upside guys sound nice but this program can’t quite afford to miss this time. Jimbo won’t sink the program….unless a personal trainer fricks his wife or something.

Yeah well mike s is a fricking idiot

Seriously though…I don’t think much of Cristibol, he can recruit but kinda sucks on game day.

Seeing Herbert ball out in the pros when he was largely mediocre in a bad conference is a red flag too
