re: I love Kiffin, but Dillingham is very likely the Michigan State version of Nick Saban.

Emmert was able to look deeper than the record. I hope our admins can do the same in this search.
Come on, now. Credit to Emmert for saying yes, but Saban basically had to come to them and ask for the job. Emmert had struck out on multiple candidates before that. It was looking like yet another disaster of a coaching search, just like the previous one that had us on DiNardo, who had to be somewhere between the 7th to 10th candidate.

bookmark this thread. He's a flash in the pan. He'll bounce around from ASU, to SEC, UNLV, FAU, etc.

Wait, is this true? I never knew that. Please elaborate

Odds get much more difficult with Dilly. But I get it. He's the kind of bet you want to make. If you're right it's a massive win.
Kiffin on the other hand is seasoned. He knows what it takes and he knows what we can bring to the table. If he can remain focused after his first NC, he could take us to dynasty. Or not. It's college football so it's all ridiculous at any moment. That's why we love it.

There will never be another Nick Saban
Never is a long time.

Based on what? Just vibes?

FIFY
Herm recruited well, but the threat of sanctions chased off a lot of talent, like Jayden.
ASU traditionally attracts talent. That's why they're always a favorite in the occasional "sleeping giant" threads on the MSB.

No he doesn't.
He could have beaten Texas in the Sugar Bowl last year had he been able to call a 3rd or 4th down conversion in FG range. But he shite his pants.

Kiffin is more proven and I’d be very happy with him, but it seems like we might still be missing out on something generational with Dillingham.
It could be generational with Kiffin too. He's only 50.

Like Kiffin shite his pants against 1-7 Kentucky and a bad Florida team to not even make the playoffs?
