I find it pretty sad. All the opportunity and money he could ever need and still acts like he does is crazy to me

He’s trashy and not very smart. Smart enough to self-promote.

I was hoping O could become a real legend and buy a shrimp boat.

With Half his money. His ex has the other half.

If your wife is dumb enough to get seduced by a Rozy finch boy it’s probably not a real loss.

At his first meeting with the Reb's big boosters, a cocktail party -like environment, he took off his shirt & got down in a 3 point stance & invited the boosters to do the same. They were in too much of a shock to do anything except stare at him, open mouthed.

I laugh when I read posters say,"We should hire O. He's a great DL coach!" No, he's not. In fact, he's widely known as a joke. All he ever was in the days before NIL and open paying of players was a bag man. That's it. The only job he ever had where recruiting wasn't a factor, he got his arse run out of town in short order.

He is proof that being passionate and likable is the secret sauce to achieve anything you want. Intelligence is way down the list

Here's a pretty good article on some of his antics over the years at various programs that includes one of my favorite O anecdotes:

quote:

In 2005, Orgeron’s players absolutely hated him, and for good reason. Upon his hire in December 2004, Orgeron tested his new players’ physicality by challenging them to a fight.

The story took a life of its own, but the confirmed version is that O summoned his team late one evening in the winter, removed his shirt, and told “any motherfricking one of you that thinks he can” to fight him. To the chagrin of countless plaintiffs’ attorneys, no one did.

I remember when he first came to LSU there was talk that he had been sober for like 15 to 20 years.
From hearing the stories the last five years I’m assuming he’s no longer sober?

while being at Miami, he had the bar fight during the Sugar Bowl week, got fired and sat out a year - he had to get a job coaching linebackers at Nichols State to get on a path back to coaching

his best friends were/are Bill Johnson and Steve Ensminger and Joe Raymond Peace, and some others
