How bad would this board have melted if we had hired Brian Daboll last year?

Saban hired him as OC for this season.

2007–2008 New York Jets (QB)
2009–2010 Cleveland Browns (OC)

2012 Kansas City Chiefs (OC)
2013 New England Patriots (OA)
2014–2016 New England Patriots (TE)
2017–present Alabama (OC/QB)

Daboll began his NFL coaching career with the New England Patriots as a defensive coaching assistant in 2000 before being promoted to wide receivers coach for the Patriots in 2002. After the 2006 season, he left the Patriots to serve as the Jets' quarterbacks coach.

In 2009, Daboll joined Eric Mangini's staff in Cleveland as offensive coordinator. Under Daboll the Browns had the NFL's 32nd ranked offense in 2009 [1] and the 29th ranked offense in 2010.[2] Daboll was named Offensive Coordinator of the Miami Dolphins under Tony Sparano in 2011, with his Dolphins improving from 30th in the league to 20th in overall offense.[3] On February 6, 2012 the Kansas City Chiefs announced the hiring of Daboll as offensive coordinator, replacing the retired Bill Muir. Daboll had previously worked with Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel, general manager Scott Pioli and quarterback Matt Cassel in the New England Patriots organization. On January 14, 2013, the New England Patriots announced that he would be brought back in a coaching capacity for the remainder of the Patriots 2012-13 season.[4] On February 5, 2017, Daboll was part of the Patriots coaching staff that won Super Bowl LI. In the game, the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 34–28 in overtime.[5]

When Orgeron gets the resume of Saban then I’ll blindly trust his decision.

If our HC had won mutliple NCs, and he hired a guy coming from the Patriots, I don't think we would melt too much.

Who's also been a multiple time OC in the NFL. Basically the same as melting over Ensminger.

Not sure of the point. There is a difference Saban has proven he knows who are the right guys out there. And who he can work with. O has not proven that.

Saban didn’t get the job promising big time coordinators . O did.

The talent discrepancy alabama has against almost every single opponent is flat out disgusting.

We, unfortunately, do not have that luxury.

Chicken...really?

I think the guy who at this point is the GOAT coach of college football gets the benefit of the doubt on who he hires vs. Ed

Yeh.

Hiring a coach from the patriots vs promoting the tight end coach who’s been on staff for one of the worst offenses in the conference for the past seven years

Saban has proven he can hire whoever he wants and deserves the benefit of the doubt. Also, Daboll came from the best organization in the NFL.

Comparing this to Orgeron is laughable. We get. Youre either on the Pom payroll or getting pressure from the ADs office. This isn't a good look for you.
