Don't overthink it. Guy played in the SEC, has spent a lot of time in Louisiana. Won at both HC spots. That is my current thoughts, that no one asked for lol

I hope not. Let him prove himself in a bigger conference first. He has been a HC for 3.5 seasons. Was 9-5 last year.

I think the guy is a great coach, has the right mentality, and would do well here. I view him as the total opposite of Napier. They won’t hire him, because of viewpoints like yours, but they should seriously look at him. Oh and he currently has Tulane, fricking Tulane in contention for the playoffs, while our big name proven guy has already been fired and LSU has 3 losses

He doesn’t have the power experience.
What we need to do is offer Nick Saban a 3 year deal, 25 million per year, and the AD position after his third year if he elects to become the AD. Just offer him stupid ridiculous money on a short term.

That means LSU is top dog in this cycle and will command a top candidate. With news that Kelly's buyout is reduced (allegedly) and being mostly fronted by a single donor, LSU is about to drop some massive cash on a coach. My money is on Dan Lanning or Kiffin. More than likely it'll be Kiffin.
Edit: To add more fuel to the massive cash discussion, O's buyout to basically paid off at this point. Someone is about to get $15M a season. There is one particular individual who is currently retired that could get north of $20M if he decided to come out of retirement.

If Saban wanted to keep coaching he would be at Alabama right now. I don't know why ya'll keep throwing his name out there in every thread like that's a realistic option.

There is a ZERO percent chance we are hiring the coach at Tulane. Or probably any G6 coach, really, but certainly not Tulane.

That was because he failed in the NFL and he doesn’t like to fail. He’s saying he should have stayed at LSU and not jumped to the NFL. People are not interpreting his comment correctly. It wasn’t his love of LSU, it was that he failed his experiment.

That's not because he has some special love for Baton Rouge. He obviously meant it was a mistake to abandon what he had built at LSU to go to some middling NFL franchise & becoming a pariah in the sports world when he bolted.

All these people saying no to Summerall would have not liked hiring Cignetti from JMU. How about a coordinator? Same people say no. Worked well for Ohio st, GA, Oregon, ND. We just tried the big name, expensive coach. Open your mind.
