It really isn't going well. I guess Woodward is willing to write off 2022 as a loss.
without mega transfers, this recruiting class is going to be very average at best, and we are already low on players.
I could see staying the course, if players weren't leaving and we still had a chance at a few recruits, but its not working.
I suppose that is why I am hoping for an earlier, not later announcement.

OU can still lose a game and be out of playoffs.
Riley can still keep some lsu guys on staff and trust them to finish off recruiting (this is under the assumption Riley does get accounted even after early signing and CR, MJ, MS and the GM we have all stay)
A lot of moving parts but a lot of variables as well.

They would need several other teams to lose as well for that to happen. The committee is unimpressed by Oklahoma this year (and part of that has to do with the arse beatings they’ve received in previous playoffs).

I hope to god you all are right... but I so worried we are going to be left with our dicks in our hands and overpaying for some other coach that should not being get paid that much because we have to fill the position... and what worries me more is that Woodward is not great friends with Riley's agent as he is Sexton. His agent could literally be leading us along to get more money. I dont think Sexton would do that.....

Why on Earth would you think it would be any better if we had an interim? Orgeron is on the road preaching to these kids he recruited to still come to LSU.
I think it's working out a lot better than him just being gone. Definitely not any worse. That is when you see much larger departures than this and deterioration of recruiting classes.

Now, Riley's agent is a more experienced Sicilian who could do the same but better.
