Have their been any credible developments over the last 12 hours causing this despair?

Or is the board just mercurial?
I logged off at about 2 AM last night and the mood was cautiously jubilant. Now it's fatalistic.
On the one hand, there is never really a "done deal" until a coach is announced. Until then, he can back out with impunity.
On the other hand, no one has confirmed Riley is staying at OU, right?
I'm trying to determine the source of the new pessimism. Are there reports I am missing?

I think if OU is working on a deal it will be announced before the game. Just a hunch to get the focus back on game and not Riley's future. If not there is doubt in the air and these rumors will be heavy during and after the game.

Good news makes the board happy for the most part…. Then they start doubting because they’re waiting for the next big information drop. When it doesn’t come within two hours they think maybe it wasn’t true. Then someone with supposed inside information says it’s done again and everyone flips….. rinse and repeat.
