I wouldn't be surprised if Shannon Dawson's name gets thrown around for the job.

You sound really bitter about getting your arse reamed out in 2022 and 2023. This "dead" program hired a pilled out goober and still beat the shite out of mighty LSU and if not for Jordan Travis breaking his leg in half on live TV we very well could've won a 4th National Championship. All of this with an idiot as HC. Yes NIL is what matters now, but FSU will never be a dead program. Are you 14 years old?

The same one that lost to Georgia 63-3? There is no better vindication for the committee. That’s a team of fricking losers and quitters with no business playing for a title. It would have been a disgrace to put them in. Justice doesn’t always prevail, but man it’s satisfying when it does

63-3 has zero to do with whether FSU deserved to be in the playoffs; I would think that you would know this. I think a lot of teams would have done the same thing if their team went undefeated and still got screwed (23 opt outs).

Name the one time this not real thing has happened.

The fired CEO would get a golden parachute. Just like these coaches get. Because of ya know, contracts and stuff.

Damn, I'm surprised they actually did it. All we heard was they didn't have the money to fire him.

We heard the same thing about LSU and BK as well and we see how that turned out. I guess when it gets so bad, you'll find the money somewhere. FSU probably flipping over couch cushions to make this one happen.

That’s paid buyout. That’s not the buyout clauses that people like Dabo, Saban, Jimbo, Meyer, Riley, Harbaugh etc had at the time.

You're just comparing the quality of coaches, at this point.

Guys like Dabo, Saban, Harbaugh, etc. didn't have to worry about being fired

We go back to the original point: O was a shitty coach and nobody was trying to get him from LSU. There was no market for him to threaten why we had to give him that much money in an extension (which correlates directly to the buyout)

Harbaugh would have washed out at Michigan and been considered a failure if it hadn't been for the COVID year giving him a pass and Michigan not having other options. I think Harbaugh and BK at ND are two good examples where staying the course works. Firing guys every three years is crazy IMO. I guess maybe there are cultural fits I don't understand, but I don't get why schools like Aubie run out good coaches like Harsin so quickly.

The thing is there are only so many of these jobs. I can't afford these super salaries. I still have no idea how athletic directors fall for it these these days. When Les threatened to take the Arkansas job, at least in that era, this was a realistic threat. The way the market has changed limits those threads severely.

Little Brother Syndrome

There are a lot of programs who won't accept the fact that they're not at the elite tier anymore when they had some success in the past. What they don't understand is that by acting like a soccer team and constantly changing your coach, you effectively inhibit the ability to ever even get good.

Auburn boosters trying to manufacture a sexual harassment story so they didn't have to pay his buy out. Was Apex level insane though

FSU is the one school I think he could maybe be okay at.

BUT I heard an interesting take on the radio this morning. Instead of hiring Deion as the HC, hire him as the AD and let him be the face of the program and primary fundraiser. I wouldn’t hate that idea as an FSU fan.

Hey look I’ll just come out and say it, FSU deserved to be in that year over Bama. It was extremely unfair that they got left out.

You’re confusing me with someone that agreed with O’s buyout, or any of the buyouts.

When coaches accomplish, or show the promise of possibly accomplishing and leaving, the levels of the top guys the agents threaten leaving and demand the buyouts written into the contracts.

To this point, AD’s have acquiesced.

I’m hoping that FSU looks at what is going on at TTU and says f your buyout wishes, and writes a super lucrative incentive based contract and devotes money to the roster

If Fla. St hires a very good sitting HC they have some how come up with money for the buyout and new staff not to mention NIL.No good HC would touch that job without the latter.I believe Jimbo Fischer will get the job,he can be paid a lot less and he is desperate to get back in coaching.
