Not really they beat a ranked team in a conference champ game with a backup QB. Given a few more weeks to settle into the offense maybe they could've won a playoff game but we will never know

Many said the same about Miami
FSU has nothing. They are cooked

Florida State is a dead program and extremely broke.
FSU has plenty of money. they just paid $260 million for their stadium renovation, and another $150 million for their football facility. does that sound broke to you?

You don’t have a clue how much of that was financed by debt, do you?

A friend of mine was on his staff, hope he gets a good landing spot after this

FSU funded the bulk of the hundreds of millions in stadium and football facility upgrades by issuing bonds through the Florida State University Board of Governors and taking on multi-million-dollar athletic department debt.

FSU can leverage Tallahassee big wigs to come up with laws to get them the money. They will be back especially with UF being a dead program for at least another decade with Dumrall

The playoff committee really might have ended that program by screwing them out of a playoff spot a few years ago. That team was frickin stacked.

Did the playoff committee kill FSU's football program by telling everyone on earth that even if they go undefeated, they aren't good enough for us to consider them a championship caliber team?
100%

Without JT, the Birmingham Bowl was the much better fit
ETA: Keep downvoting Criminole Cucks. It won’t make you any less finished as a relevant program

Well it was the right decision according to FSU logic. They always said their 1 loss team getting in over undefeated major conference champ WVU (and 1 loss ND who had just beaten FSU) was the right decision because SOS trumps everything.

Remember when LSU hired O, they gave him a huge buyout when no one was even looking to hire him
It was after the national title but it was still ridiculous. Give him a bonus for 2019, but he didn’t need to be making the money they gave him

Under the terms of Ed Orgeron’s first permanent contract with LSU—signed in late November 2016—his buyout if fired without cause started at $12 million.
In P4 college football terms $12 Million is nothing for a buyout

You are looking at it from the 2026 lens.
10 years ago $12 million was outrageous. Especially for someone with Coach O’s resume

That’s paid buyout. That’s not the buyout clauses that people like Dabo, Saban, Jimbo, Meyer, Riley, Harbaugh etc had at the time.
