Díaz got his dream job in his home city. Completely different. That wasn’t an extension and he got a better job.

Well, a guy I know that has Louisiana connections said that Napier is the guy and it will be announced after the ULL bowl game. Now, somebody’s source is wrong. If it’s mine fine, but you’ll hear(as I have) all kind of bullshat until a coach is hired. I really don’t care who it is anyone has to be better than Moorhead. Has to be.
Agree with all of that.

Sorry I was listening to the ESPN Radio broadcast then, I would've liked to have heard the MSU crew describe the fiasco.
The radio guys are so much better to listen to instead of the national tv guys.
Because it’s radio, they are so descriptive and colorful. I love listening to games on radio.
“HE’S OPEN! CAUGHT! HE SHAKES A TACKLE! HE’S SPRINTING FOR THE SIDELINE NOW TURNING DOWNFIELD HE GOES! HE’S AT THE THIRTY, THE TWENTY, THE TEN, HE DIVES FOR THE END ZONE! AND HE MAKES IT! TOUCHDOWN!!!”

Contractually irrelevant to the conversation

Splitting hairs here. These contracts don’t prevent movement in the least.

By mutual agreement between Napier and State due to his just signing another extension. Very gentlemenlike. Contact was made, it was very courteous, and it ended.
Going to 100% disagree. I think it their top target.
I give State fans shite on the main board, but truth is I do go to their games as a guest at anytime I want to fly or drive in.
That's because of the friendship with a... "connected" person let's say. For the first time today he reached out. His words were that this was all screwed up from the get go due to outside pressure and most of it false.
Now the AD is on the hot seat for not handling those outside sources and managing the message. Those people are livid at the national embarrassment from the AD, not that they were happy with Moorhead.
SO having said that, Napier is the main guy, he has not said no. But he understands now as well as ANY coaching candidate that the AD exposed the universities sack and they are getting squeezed in a vice.
Thus the anger with the AD. Moorhead had already agreed to all of the demands and set to hire an OC, etc etc.
So now, the AD is in trouble because he has to come up with the buyout dollars and the squeeze from the new staff that knows Ms ST is now in trouble, when he could have controlled the message and fired him next year. HUGE concerns going on.
Having said that, Napier is officially looking at the surroundings. LINK
He just liked this page. It's one of the drawing cards the connected people use. If he just liked it, and he did, he is considering.
But as the AD and MS ST writers repeatedly stated today... there are no deals, no contracts have been signed or even an agreement in place in principle.

Yeah they are. You want me, it's gotta be better than what I got.
See how that works?

And It's now being reported that he turned State down

A narcissistic prick like Cohen being bad at controlling the public narrative and doing the right thing?
Never would have guessed it.

That’s a BS way of spinning Napier turning state down.
Don’t pursue Napier because he was just extended, even though state just fired Moorhead after extending him ?

That is not the problem! Getting the coaching staff is going to be hard to get better coaches since it is very late!

Is it possible that State made this firing at this time with no plan in place?
If you go to the erectile dysfunction site, Coach34 beats his chest about how he has inside information that Napier is the guy. And that of course they would never fire Moorhead this late in the cycle without having someone signed sealed and ready to announce. That was two days ago.
Yesterday he started a whole new thread about how Cohen would be "working the phones all weekend" to get a deal done.
Internet Know It Alls are such intolerable douchebags. Watching them squirm is worth it

You mean the optics of being told thanks but no thanks from a Sun Belt coach? Yeah, those are some bad optics.

Lol more because he said no

Those would be collosal failures. There was a brief moment in the Ole Miss search where someone said they heard Fedora was a possibility. Every Ole Miss board began to meltdown. Thankfully it was bullshite
I don't think those are realistically getting a look, just courtesy interviews. The fall back is Joe Judge, which I think we are mixed on. Personally I would love a Judge hire, especially considering he will be bringing Aaron Feld with him as S&C.

There's no way State fired Moorhead without having someone already lined up.
I think we fired him with probably 3 replacements in mind, knowing that one of them would take the job. All 3 were probably better fits than Joe in Cohen's mind. Time will tell.
