Good hire on paper but it does absolutely nothing to change Auburn on or off the field. It'll be the Malzahn era with more drama.

Hugh Freeze is a lot of things but he's far from a bad coach. Auburn is about to frick the transfer portal up and get some studs.

People grossly confuse being a good coach to equal being a good program CEO. Freeze and Kiffin are a lot alike. Both can be great play callers at times but you don't want them to be the face of your program. It'll be super interesting to see how he acclimates back into the SEC grind.

It was always gonna be Kiffin or Freeze.
Honestly, they're both sleazeballs, but I really DGAF as long as Auburn is scoring TDs. It will make the medicine go down easier if he hires an elite staff around him, but I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for great position coaches to hitch their wagon to Freeze.

I am fairly shocked that Auburn is so out of touch with today’s world. I hope they’re ready for all of the abuse they will take from their student body, AU family and outside world. It will not be a good look. Yeah, he’s a good coach. I know several die hard AU fans who are totally disappointed in the hire.
