Do we really know that's the winning recipe? I've read that Saban's practices are pretty freaking intense.

Most every coach can do this.

But if the trio of Orgeron, Ensminger, and Aranda. when you combined that with Jenkins, Damyune Craig, and the rest seem to have a synergistic effect where the total is greater than the individual parts would leave you to believe they could be.

That remains to be seen and has to play out. Could be a very solid backup plan if they can almost win out and at least appear well coached and competitive for the remainder of the season, including against Bama.

That is if we miss out on Herman and we can't find another coach at that level. If Fleck or Fedora or some other unkown doesn't stand up to closer scruitinity.

we need a home run that shakes the SEC not a retread play (nothing is guarantied anyway) in Fisher, Briles, Petrino, Spurrier, Stoops, Kelly, etc.

We have to have the dumbest f'n fanbase in the country. How else do we explain keeping Les around so long and fans wanting to hire Orgeron after 2 games against tomato cans with a 3-25 record in his previous HC gig?

Couldn't he do this as an assistant like he has? I mean yea, a HC is the "head" recruiter, but it's not like a HC who's done well in recruiting before is going to destroy our recruiting if O is not the HC.

He's letting his assistants do their jobs but within his overall plan.
I hope it's not the same plan he had at Ole Miss.

I guess I just don't understand why you wouldn't want a coach who can recruit AND has proven to be a winner. Oh, and is a genius coordinator on top of that. One who has never failed on such an epic level. I mean, he failed BAD. Like, as bad as it gets. Just sayin. It's true. There are some coaches out there that may fail if given this job. But one thing we can say about O, he HAS failed in a HC job, epically.

I expect him to get 2 to 3 losses (maybe one if a miracle happens) in this run. That's not enough for me to erase Ole Miss. I also guarantee you he wouldn't find a HC job, nor will any fan bases be calling for him (anywhere decent) in that scenario.(except some of our fans unfortunately).

because at the end of the season is when he will be judged, not right now after two games. If he wins out, he will have defeated argueably the best college team every assembled (bama) and run a gauntlet of the top SEC teams winning week after week. He will show that the players love him. He will have shown he has his OC and DC in place as well as the rest of his staff that all seem to work well together. I don't think his recruiting is going to be a problem as he has already been named recruiter of the year in the past and is just a very likeable type guy. With this exciting new (for LSU) offense and great Aranda defense and a winning atmosphere (if we win out), recruiting will be better than even under Miles. Maybe we can get to that Bama level recruiting.

I don't think he will be a gamble if he pulls off the miracle of winning out the season. Books will be written and movies made about the season. Look what that did for recruiting for Freeze with that movie 'the blind side'. Only this will be an even better and more compelling movie.

Proving his salt would be going to a smaller school and building it up. The their would be no doubt who the fans would want.

Winn 7 or 8 games with someone else team aint proving shite when you have had failures before at doing the same thing.

again with that illogical argument. SOMEONE ELSE TEAM. Whose team is it? It's his team now. He made it his team in only a couple short weeks. How amazing is that? Think how much he could make it his team with a whole spring and fall camp.

If he keeps winning games against the better opponents with a team that has only been his team for such a short time, I would say it proves quite a lot.

he had one failure and one success. He failed 10 long years ago at Ole Miss of which he learned a lot from and was a success 3 years ago at USC Trojans. . Which are no slouch of a university to be a head coach of.

If you think being an interim coach is the same as being a HC and building a team not much more we can argue about.

I'll bet you this though. Since you are all over some CEO. I'll bet you he wont have 7 10 win seasons like Miles did? Put your money where your mouth is.

Well we know he is an elite recruiter and yet no major program has offered him a coordinator position.

It really is strange isn't it.

Supposedly the best recruiter on the face of the planet can't get an offer from any p5 or g5 college.

Even when he openly begged for the Syracuse job last year, he didn't even get an interview.

Apparently half of the LSU fan base is smarter than 120 other athletic depts.

WTF are you even talking about? He is still the interim coach. We haven't hired a new HC beyond that yet. Are you on drugs?

I like what I have seen from the tigers since he took over as interim HC so far. But there are still a lot of games to be played. We just have to wait and see how it all plays out. First we don't know how this season is going to go. Second, we don't know who is going to be available and interested in taking the job. Lots of possibilities and CEO could be a possibility depending on how the season plays out and depending on who else is available.

I really think LSU fans are over blowing O's impact on recruiting. Herman, Jimbo, and Chip could come in and recruit just the same at LSU.

Nobody except LSU would consider Orgeron as head coach if ISIS tried to force them to. Therefore I wouldn't call him a flavor of the month.

Even an FCS team would laugh at the idea of hiring him as head coach.

No kidding. If you read the coaching changes board about other potential open coaching positions such as ND, Texas, USC, etc. You will see so many "great possible hires" or "top 5 coaches to replace coach x". How many times do you see people put O in their top 5. Better yet some link for me how many sports writers are putting coach O on the hiring list as a top 5 hire for ANY school. ONLY LSU fans would do this. Why? Because they're ok with hiring someone with a mediocre, at best, record as long as he walks and talks like them. It's insanely idiotic and i hope Alleva shows some balls and doesn't cave to their stupidity.

Orgeron is the worst head coach in the history of the SEC West since divisions began. Even Sylvester Croom managed a decent 8-5 season in his 3rd or 4th year.

Nobody has even hired Orgeron as a coordinator.
