Don't listen to Finebaum. That dude has been the Skip Bayless of College Football for over a decade. He is a troll and shouldn't be taken seriously. He has more wrong opinions than anything else.

The one point never mentioned is no state income tax in Florida. It’s all about money. Same offers = Florida being an automatic raise.
Increase salary to offset income tax.

Finebaum is an Alabama shill, he doesn't want a strong LSU because he knows we are one of few schools that can compete with that school head to head if we have a good coach.

but LSU had everything on its shelf this year to win a title.
So this says that LSU is closer to winning a National Championship than Florida.....why leave a program who is like 98% positively making the playoffs (Ole Miss) for a program that Paul seems to be more of a rebuild (Florida)?

Finebaum also said this decision may depend more on Kiffin’s family than Kiffin himself. He pointed to Layla Kiffin’s recent visit to Gainesville and her family’s history at Florida, saying that her opinion could be the biggest factor.
Paul should have just said this and be done with his take. This is likely a bigger factor than people realize.

Kiffin @ LSU makes Finebaum very nervous being a BAMA fan.

Yeah,I believe Louisiana has some of the lowest property taxes. I always hear how unreal cheap it is compared to other states who don’t have income taxes.

It’s true. Other fan bases do not have LSU’s best interest in mind. In fact it’s the opposite.
Why would any rival or any other fan want to see LSU actually have elite coaching and become much more consistent at an elite level?

Take what F Baum says with a grain of salt. In that interview he also said Brain Kelly is a good coach.

Finebaum is a penis with glasses.

None of that makes a bit of sense

The fact that Florida looked so bad last night makes that job a little bit easier than LSU. Kelly was good, maybe not great, but LSU had everything on its shelf this year to win a title. They just couldn’t get it done. So, I would gravitate toward Florida a little bit.”
This literally makes no sense. Especially because he immediately suggested that basically a competent coach could come in and win at LSU right away.

Dude basically said Florida tolerates losing so he should go there
Lane is smart enough to come to that translation as well. Look, Lane didn't want LSU so badly in 2021 because he doesn't want the challenge. He wants to coach at LSU because he wants to win, he wants the challenge, he wants titles. He wants to cement his legacy at a big time program.
