All first round draft picks.
I thought LSU fans looked down on NFL busts and coaches who couldn't prepare people for success at the next level. Is this no longer the case?

Screw these hill billy arse homers. They nothing about football, just names. They don't pay attention to offensive schemes enough for this thread to make sense to them.

I watched Louisville beat the shite out of then two weeks ago.
For the record, Herman is my first choice. But Jimbo would NOT disappoint me:
In Saban's fifth and final year at LSU (2004), a year after winning the NC, Georgia rolled LSU 45-16.
In Saban's 3rd year at LSU, a year after winning the SEC title and a year before winning the NC, it lost 26-8 to VTech, 31-7 to Auburn, 31-0 to Alabama, and 35-20 to Texas.
Those games happen.

I agree. My fear is that these homers are all of over JF even b4 they give others a real look
somehow I find it more likely than not our best potential coach isn't someone who has coached here.
But Jimbo sounds cool

Jimbo isn't the greatest ever and did ride Jameis to his one title but like people have said:
- he'll put out a very solid offense
- he'll be able to pay a DC 1.5 or whatever the top rate is to get a really good DC which he couldn't do at FSU
- he'll be able to hire a top special teams coach and wont just hire his friend
- he'll recruit just as well as les
- in general, he is a competent proven HC, not a mouth breather like we've had

Cool y'all I'm convinced. Let's get him!
And I'm someone who would rather get Herman then Jimbo. But your question was if Jimbo was an upgrade over Miles. That's a pretty dumb f*cking question. LSU's succes is attributed to our great defense and despite our crap offense. Do you know what side of the ball Miles works on?

Who did Florida State lose to in last year's bowl game? They were a 9 point favorite in that game. Who coached that team?

I get that you're trying to generate discussion as you do so well, but Jimbo and Miles' similarities end at the fact that they both like to wear baseball caps on the sidelines and are folksy guys.
Jimbo runs a pro style system that involves modern passing concepts and doesn't confine his team to a run first attack with 22 personnel as Miles and all hos ghost OCs do. Jimbo does the things Miles does well just as good if not better than Les (recruit, win titles, get along with the right people--which Les did for a long time, players love him, puts players in the NFL, and he knows this league)
He's a tremendous teacher and QB coach, and this can't be stressed enough... HE PLAYS TO HIS PLAYERS' STRENGTHS. He won't recruit a "dual threat" QB and put him in an air coryell/schembechler hybrid clusterfrick of an offense.
His in-game adjustments are remarkable and just like Les, players love playing for him.
Herman is top for me but Jimbo would be a tomahawk slam dunk with kevin harlan screaming "DROPS THE ANVIL" in the background.

i still don't get how jimbo is a younger miles.

Nah we still think bama is BustU
We would just like a few elite college QBs who eventually bust in the NFL, like bama.

Jimbo is a lot like Miles, you are right. However when it comes to gameday, he is going to give us a better chance at competing because he is much more competent. He's going to have a QB ready to play each week. He is going to recruit. He's going to compose a great staff.
There isnt a stat that proves that proves he's an upgrade on gameday, but if you watch enough of each team BJL, it is pretty clear to see. Jimbo is not the kind of coach that is going to have us losing frickin ARK every year. Or Ole Miss every other year. Or Miss St at home. Or go to Wisconsin with months to prepare and shite the bed. Or go into a National title game after 50 days off and shite the bed. He's not going to win every game, the SEC is too tough. But he is going to put the kids in position to win & Tiger fans will be able to go to sleep knowing that there was nothing else our staff could have done to win the game. And i can live with that.

You have to study his offense. I don't want to get into particulars cause just starts a debate from guys who don't study film. Look at the film and you'll see
