Jameis Winston was recruited by none other than Dameyune Craig and signed with FSU cause Craig convinced him Bama would never start a black QB. Also, Fisher's "coaching" of Winston basically amounted to just letting him do whatever the frick he wanted.
Fisher is a lateral move from Miles from a results standpoint. The offense will look better but his teams still lose plenty of games they're favored in. Before and after Jameis his squad is and was the poster child for that team everyone rolls their eyes at when they start season ranked in the top 10.
Jimbo will probably keep up recruiting, maintain LSU as a contender every four or five years, and drive us crazy the rest of the time. Anyone who thinks he will do better than that is deluding themselves just because they want different.
Give me Herman all day.

Jimbo hasn't gone 10-15 vs his peers in the last 8 years (Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Alabama)

See this seems to make sense to me. You have another good old boy coach in his 50s. He had an all world QB they won the title. By the skin of their teeth mind you. Jameis had to pull out multiple games in the 4th. There were nail biters. The rest of the years he loses two or three games. Does this not sound familiar to anyone?
Why would we replace miles with someone who seems to just be like a younger miles.

Look at Miles SEC record the last 5 seasons after the 2011 amazing season...
Miles has been headed downward for 5 years....this was supposed to be his best team in 12 years! and we're 2-2

Explain why Herman is an upgrade over Miles?
This argument could be made for anyone save Saban and Meyer, and maybe a couple of others who we have no shot at getting.
Looking at resumes alone it's hard to find one better than Miles that is open to making a move.
Jimbo has a top 5 resume in the country.
He's won a NC as a head coach and as an offensive coordinator.
He rebuilt a program that was meddling with their ancient coach (a.k.a. he knows how to revive a top program).
He's developed numerous NFL drafted QB's, along with a Heisman winner and number one pick.
He knows LA.
He knows LSU.
He knows Saban!
And he is not an "old guy" as you say. He's 50 years old. That's young as frick these days. He could easily coach another 15 years.
This argument could be made for anyone save Saban and Meyer, and maybe a couple of others who we have no shot at getting.

And who coached JJ/JL to the NC? Did either of those guys have a spec of talent of Jameis? Do you doubt we win that title if Jameis is QB.

Exactly. Jimbo has made his name and the only coach who has shown to have that inhuman ability to coach like his hair is on fire after "making it" is Saban. This is what did Les in and you can see the same things in Jimbo. He'll do well enough off experience and connections to good assistants but LSU needs a guy with fire in his belly right now who is ready to work 24 hours a day to prove himself. Herman is that guy.
