Never really been a fan of his. However, doesn't matter because he won't end up at LSU.

If it's all about the competition then there should be lots of active coaches with a winning percentage that's the same or better.

Name 5.

So he gets penalized for winning in a power 5 conference that isn’t the SEC.

Name all the other P5 coaches not in the SEC with a similar record.

Also, if it’s so easy, a bunch of other Big12 coaches have done it recently too huh?

People here were actually wanting him to lose today so OU wouldn't make the playoffs and we could hire him.

Well, that happened.

But now everyone wants Aranda.

This was so predictable.

what’s hilarious is everyone wanted him to lose this week to help increase a potential chance of getting him. He then losses and now people don’t even want him. It’s typical TD comedy really

He has accomplished little to be the next LSU HC.

Right.

He didn’t go 34-24-1 in the Big 10.

Or totally fail miserably at another SEC school.

Or go 28-21 in the Big 12.

That’s the standards of a Head Football Coach at LSU! If only we could find anyone with such illustrious resumes.

His offensive philosophy will make it hard to have a good defense in the SEC. You have to have ball control and let your defense get some rest in the SEC. You go uptempo and have a three and out and your defense has to get back on the field with 2 minutes rest then youre fricked. He would be Kevin Sumlin in the SEC.

Yeah this would be true if it was 1993

Exactly.

I’d gladly still take him

I really think a lot of people have seen Oklahoma play twice in Lincoln’s 5 seasons as HC, the LSU beat down in 2019 and today’s game.

Those happen to be his two worst losses. Let’s ignore the other 60+ games.

Widely considered one of the most innovative offensive minds in the game.

Eventually they catch up. Defense is still the way to championships.

I think Riley could win championships at LSU, but only if he's got a home run hire DC with him.

PAC is no better than the Big 12

Sumlin would have won more than 9 games in 3 years there if that were accurate

Why don't you explain to us who you want and what he's actually done to be HC at LSU? Otherwise STFU

He's pretty much had a power 5 team in a group of 6 conference his whole coaching career. (Texas has been a dumpster fire for a decade).

If Orgeron had his LSU squads in the mountain west he'd be 50-8 or whatever too.

You guys have been in the best conference for so long you don't realize that success in other places doesn't necessarily translate. The SEC is closer to the NFL than they are the BigXII.

EXACTLY. They get pistol whipped every post season and barely won most of their games this year. Why the excitement?

What has Riley Actually Accomplished

1) A crapload of regular season wins, blowing through a defense optional conference.

2) A near perfect record of embarrassing losses when the competition is at its toughest.

I can see why Louisiana is one of the lowest educated states in America. Some of these comments about Riley are ludicrous. He lost in the playoffs? Most teams would kill to get to the playoffs, and then to do it every year. His offensive genius would put LSU into championship contention. With our talent he will be able to go out and get a good DC.
