I like Sumrall as #2 behind Kiffin but haven’t heard his name from many on the LSU side….I think he will be great
The only other name we've seen connected to the LSU job is Drink. My guess is LSU has a yes from him. Doesn't mean that is the direction LSU ultimately goes, but it feels like LSU is all in on Kiffin, has a guaranteed backup plan in Drink, and could then pivot if they get the NO from Kiffin this weekend and don't want to pull the trigger on Drink.

Yeah that’s not doomsday at all.
You call Dillingham or Heupel before all of those names anyway (outside of Kiffin, obviously)

I am under the assumption that Lea, Key, and Dilly all remain at their Alma Maters
I think that is a faulty assumption. There are handful of jobs that they would leave for, and LSU is one of those jobs.

the only Doomsday would be Kiffin saying no and then the people making the hire overreacting and promoting Frank an hour later or something stupid like that. There are other coaches out there who are poised to make a jump and be successful at a program like LSU. And to be honest, Lane's not any more of a guarantee than those other coaches are. You just never know.

My thoughts too.. many users saying that it’s been Lane or Nick and that’s the list…
My guess Nick been pushing Lane but if Lane changes his mind Saban set up w the same offer.. probably why lsu not even batting an eye everytime we leak the higher amount..

Probably dillingham and make him say no. Or Golesh.

I'd like to think that we end up with Dilly in this scenario. He's my clear cut #2 anyways.

That’s it doomsday at all. Dillingham or Golesh are the 2 best candidates anyway. I love Kiffin but we’re going to dramatically overpay for him. I would avoid anyone with Sexton as their agent.

Is this when the Kelvin Sheppard noise would begin?
LSU is not hiring someone with ZERO head coaching or college experience. Frank is also not being given the head job.

Give me Will Stein noise before Kelvin Sheppherd noise.

LSU has been playing along (if not outright fueling) the Kiffin to LSU rumors for one of two reasons IMO:
1) they indeed have Kiffin
OR
2) they’ve got their man, and it’s bigger than Kiffin and they were totally fine with everyone running with the Kiffin to LSU narrative …running cover for the real hire
I guess we’ll find out soon enough
