Deion Sanders has “legit” interest in the Colorado football job, according to report Saturday by Bruce Feldman. Feldman reported that Sanders was offered the Buffaloes job. 247Sports’ Carl Reed previously reported the Jackson State head coach was engaged in talks with Colorado and South Florida about those vacancies.

“Now (onto) Colorado, where they're desperate to pump some life into this program, CU has offered Deion Sanders, from Jackson State, the job,” Feldman said on Saturday’s Big Noon Kickoff. “And I'm told he has legit interest in becoming the Buffs new head coach. He is 22-2 in the last two years, but he really hasn't gotten much buy in from Power Five jobs with vacancies. I'm told if he can go there, and there's people that see you are optimistic you would make this program nationally relevant for the first time in a long long time.”

Would those top recruits from last year follow him to Boulder?

I can't think of a worse fit, TBH.

I personally don't think Deion will be a successful P5 coach. If he is going to be successful, he needs a special situation with full alignment, heavy NIL, etc. Colorado does not have that.

I don’t see it. Colorado doesn’t have the structure and NIL coordination with administration and boosters you need to compete.

South Florida would be a better fit for him in my opinion.

I hope he can get Colorado back to at least competitive

I’m sure his son will and probably the #1 recruit he signed.

I agree. I think it's also a better job. He could be successful there and then potentially get a better P5 job than Colorado where he could actually succeed.

You can’t? You tried and Colorado was the worst fit for Deion you could think of?

What about BYU?

I was speaking of currently open or potentially open positions. BYU would be worse, but there are not many P5 jobs that I think would be a worse fit for Deion than Colorado.

He needs full buy-in from the school and alumni. Colorado doesn't give a shite about football.

I think Deion will be a complete failure at the P5 level. For that not to happen he needs an "ideal" situation.

I don't know what that is, but it's not Colorado.

He also needs a massive budget for assistants as he needs excellent X’s and O’s guys, which I don’t see Colorado giving him

I think Deion may accept a weird fit just to leave Jackson. There is no way he wants to be there.

He would be a possible threat at a school like Miami. They could decide to give him a NIL checkbook and enough of a payroll to hire a great staff.

Ironic given his history and college rivalry with the school back in the 80s.

Deion’s failed “Prime Academy” is going to make it hard for any of the big names to hire him. Maybe a jump to a bad P5 job for a few years will allow him an easier path to the big name jobs he wants.

It will be a lot easier to look past that if it can be argued that he has already has the seal of approval from a legit big school compliance staff and has survived a few seasons with the NCAA having him on the radar.

I love how this keeps getting repeated as if it's a stone cold fact from a bunch of people whose only evidence is other people repeating it on the internet.

Once again, I am married to a Buff. We go to enough events for me to believe that simply is not true.

They had incredibly bad luck w/Tucker screwing them at the last minute and made the panic hire of Dorrell. But if it was true they don't give a shite and are only collecting checks they would have never fired him mid season in the first place.

shite, their fist home game after KD was fired was vs Cal and it was a fully packed house. The fan base is there. They just need a good HC to keep bringing them out.

MacIntyre could have possibly been that guy but his stupid arse decided to cover up for an assistant who was beating the shite out of his girlfriend which is the real reason they shitcanned him.

If I was Prime, I would pass. CU is not committed to winning and that university and the people in Boulder are never going to support the football program. Prime should hold out for an SEC job or mid-major in the southeast where he can actually be successful. The leftists in Boulder don’t deserve him.

I actually think this is a great fit. He's not ready for a program expecting him to win national titles right away. He's got to learn how to navigate boosters, NIL, and win at the P5 level. Colorado will give him time and resources and if he can convince 5 stars to go to Jackson St, he can convince them to play in the Pac 12 in Boulder. It's not in the backyard of a major recruiting territory but its an easy direct flight from any major metro area. And players have NIL money to fly their parents to games now.
