If he were staying at OM there would be no need to announce it after the regular season

He’d just announce now

If kiffin leaves ole miss dans should burn the AD at the stake.

Not for him leaving, but for the AD allowing him to stay another weak. It’s ludicrous

If kiffin was leaving why would ole miss AD allow him to stay? That makes ZERO sense either

So they don't loose their next game. Kiffin would be wearing purple and gold today if they already had two or three losses.

This is the best way to lose the next game, allow a lame duck couch leaving for your rival to keep coaching you

What kind of Mickey Mouse AD puts out a statement regarding their current coach’s future like that?

At this point you have to cut ties immediately. Forget the egg bowl, forget the playoffs. We’ll pack your shite up and mail it to you.

Yeah it’s crazy if Kiffin is leaving which he appears he is

The only way it’s positive for OM is that they know he’s staying and want to make LSU and UF wait another week

You think an interim coach is better suited to coach them than Kiffin?

Dellenger really fricked the messaging here with his “interpretation” of that statement

The really batshit insane thing will be if OM loses the egg bowl now because they will probably miss the playoff then

Dude that is the most “Lane Kiffin is gone” announcement you could possibly get without it being official. He is y’all’s

agreed
they let him finish the season
get a win over moo state
make the playoff bracket and then part ways
Joe Judge coaches the playoff game

110% without a doubt yes. If he is leaving the players would 100% know and this would be a disaster

There were 3 possible states as of today: 1) Kiffin is staying and ready to sign the extension, 2) Kiffin still hasn’t decided what to do, 3) Kiffin is leaving. If Kiffin were definitely staying, they would have announced that, so 1) is out. If he still hadn’t made a decision, they would keep working on him to get him to stay with no certainty of when the decision might be made. In that case, they would not be announcing already when the decision is going to be announced. They would let it play out and hope he decides to stay before Friday, so 2) is also out.

That leaves 3) as the only viable option. Kiffin is leaving. I suppose that leaves open the possibility he is choosing Florida or he hasn’t decided between Florida and LSU, but it’s unlikely he would close the door on Ole Miss if he hasn’t already made up his mind. All the smoke yesterday and today points to LSU as the destination. If not, we’ll know sooner than next Saturday. All will be quiet this week if he’s going to LSU. If he’s not, then LSU will be moving on to other candidates. At this point, no news is good news.

There’s no positive for OM in doing this. They look incredibly weak. No school with any self respect would allow a coach who has quit on them at a historical program juncture to hang around for another week. Some things are bigger than playoff berths. If you allow yourself to be made a mockery of it will stick with you forever.

Trying to work out the logic on OM making him coach the Egg Bowl if he’s lame duck. That doesn’t make any sense. Of
If Joe judge is gonna be your coach for the playoff then let him coach the egg bowl.
Instead he puts us in a holding pattern for a week.
LSU should start calling their next 2-3 candidates. This has tom Herman written all over it
