Why go rebuild when you can reload and prove yourself?

I'm going to go with 7 seasons. I can't stand counting bowl wins in the 10 wins metric.

I don’t know what it is. But the way some of you negatigers are melting down at the thought of aranda leaving and O hiring his replacement that you would be expecting a 8 win season or Thereabouts. If you don’t then why in hades are you acting the way that you are?

Same goes for you. You probably thought we would win 7 this year and when aranda leaves you will say 7 or 8 wins or something sky is falling ish. I would love to take advantage of that.

I predicted 9-3 in every prediction thread on this site. You're more than welcome to peruse them.

if aranda leaves i think it would be for a top 15 school, anything less then that would require the same or near same money he is making now and i dont see lesser schools having that kind of money

Derek Mason makes over $2.5 million. If he leaves Vandy, I could see Aranda being a good fit there.

2 mil is not a lot for a HC salary. Plenty of non elite programs can support that no problem

Exactly, you're projecting out of your arse.

IF you want, you can scroll my post history to find my 10-2 preseason prediction. Unlike most here, I will not move the goal post.

Given the OC hire, can you blame anyone?

I'm not melting, I put context on the situation. Maybe you should go back and review my OP to you.

There's reason to give pause at him finding a DC of Arandas caliber given the reality of the situation and his OC hire.

If you want to pump sunshine, be my guest. IF...IF this were to happen, I will be concerned but very cautiously optimistic that CEO pulls a rabbit out of his arse.

I don't think O should receive an extension until Aranda is secured for next season or he secured a top replacement.

After seeing miles lose 10 SEC games in his last three seasons I gotta say I am optimistic about the direction. If that is sunshine pumping. So be it. If O loses 4 SEC games next season imo it will be time to part ways. 4 losses would still only give him 9 sec losses compared to 10 for miles in the same three year time span. So yes I am optimistic. Regardless of if Dave leaves or not things are looking up.

You basically admitted that CEO isn't in the best position and proved my point about a Top DC leaving their current situation to come here.

That's the reality of the situation and reason to be concerned.

No problem being optimistic about that, I see it as keeping the status quo. And with the OC hire and offensive production, I don't see LSU trending up or turning the corner.

Next year is the make or break for CEO.

No I didn’t. My expectations are sky high and I think O can meet them with or without aranda. 4 losses isn’t acceptable in year 3 at LSU for any coach. It is not unique to O.

Next year is make or break I agree.

Why would he go to Utah State when he can make $2.5 mil here? And we are no longer in the mood to be bluffed into raises.

Maybe he doesn't want to be a DC his whole career

Why do you think that?

What is it about Orgeron that screams championship caliber coach, despite not once having even sniffed a division title?

I think a lot of people are thinking the coaching carousel is mostly over when it fact it hasn’t even begun

Once NFL jobs open up, there’s gonna be some shuffling at both levels and some jobs opening up for guys like Aranda possibly
