Mcmurphy

FWIW Utah states HC last year made half of Arandas salary

Also he is their former DC so he has some familiarity with the area and athletic department I would assume

I don’t think he takes this job

But the fact that he’s actually starting to get media smoke about jobs tells you his agent is finally putting out feelers. I don’t think the “lifer DC” narrative is accurate

Never was. Just our fanbase trying to shield themselves from the inevitable future where the only talented coach on the staff leaves

We are going to be up a creek if/when he leaves. I have no confidence that an adequate replacement would be hired.

Anyone know if Boudreaux from Cut Off runs a 3-4 or 4-3?

That’s a good job... don’t let anyone tell you it’s not.

Aranda could win 8-10 games a year at Utah St

He will most likely need to take some type of pay cut to get a HC job.He is too smart to hitch his wagon to O for too long.

If Aranda leaves, look no further than Mississippi to grab MSUs DC. Offer him what he needs to get here.

MSU would have to grab the Batman Credit card to make that happen. Don’t see it

Wouldn’t be a bad move for Aranda professionally if he wants to be a head coach. He’s familiar with the area from being there before. He could win 9-10 games a year there easy and be a hot name for some head P5 jobs in a couple years

Familiarity would be only draw here for Aranda, I think. I bet he could get a power 5 job- Nebraska, UGA, and Florida have all hired elite DCs with little/no head coaching pedigree over the past decade. I would think a mid-tier P5 job could definitely happen.

That's really the only reason his name is being mentioned IMO. I'd imagine if he really wanted to be a HC now, he probably could've gotten the Texas Tech job before Wells.

If I were Utah State, I'd be tempted to bring Gary Andersen back.

Hey if he's going to eventually leave I'd rather it be as far away from the SEC as possible

I never bought into the career DC talk

Good potential first time gig, wouldn't blame him.

I'm pretty sure he runs a 1-3-1.
