Have you watched many of FSU's games? Tell me how good his OL is or his defense is. His QB is getting KILLED weekly. This tells me he is inconsistent in a conference that he and Clemson should dominate. Does this mean he sucks...... no, but you can't be blind to that either.

I don't expect this, but that doesn't mean you blindly ignore it either. You have him explain what's happening.
It's not all about if he has a bad record then he is not hired. There are reasons for the lack of success that aren't 100% in your control. But you don't just assume anything either.
You want to know about his recruiting philosophy. You want to understand what his ideas are about building the best championship team. Heck he might have made some mistakes which has learned from and is better. Saban is better at Bama than he was at LSU. Jimbo might end up being better at LSU than he is at FSU...

I saw our o-line get dominated and I see Jimbo's get dominated.
Jimbo will bring great qb recruiting and a good offensive mind. However, his choice in d.c.'s, o-line recruiting, or o-line coaches have really made him struggle. Jimbo also disappointed me in the way he handled Winston.
I'm not against Jimbo, he's a safe hire. Our problem has been trying to win the west since 2011. You have to ask yourself, can he bring us to the sec championship game? Now, two or three years ago, with Winston, that question was yes. However, Clemson has now taken over the A.C.C. and Jimbo has fallen behind Louisville, and possibly UNC.
So, If you want to win the s.e.c. or west, Is he the guy that is going to go toe to toe on the recruiting trail with saban? Is he the guy who's going to game plan and win? Remember, he isn't able to do against Clemson now. That is my concern.
When I ask this question to myself, I keep saying you have to take a big risk and get a guy you feel will out work the rest to win the west. Is that Jimbo? I'm leaning more to someone with something to prove. Jimbo can be satisfied.

You actually make a pretty good point. However, I would prefer Jimbo's overall resume. He's won 71% of his games at FSU. Pretty impressive

I understand. He has the best resume of all the candidates. No Doubt and a conservative person would take the safe hire.
However, We just fired a guy that won 77% of his games.
If we wanted safe and to win games, then we should have kept what we had. If we want to win championships, you have to take a big risk.

Re Jimbo's staff, while not sure of its exact effect on who is on it, one of the reasons Jimbo was supposedly looking to leave last yr was that he was not given the money to either keep his staff together and/or hire better better staff members. That's the main reason the Head Hawg left Wisconsin from most accounts.

Jimbo has a strong track record of developing good to great college QBs. With a good QB and a good D you'll always be in the championship hunt.

I'm hoping if Jimbo comes he leaves OL coach Rick Trickett behind. But, I doubt it. I still would be happy with Jimbo.

I'm going to ask him tonight whether Herman is still on the table or not... I will let everyone know through an update.

Sounds good my man. Ask again about Jimbo too and how confident he is that it is going to happen. Preciate the info

percentages don't matter at this point.
LSU has a top tier D and DC. If Jimbo had Aranda and this defense he'd be rolling right now.
Conversely, LSU needs a creative offensive mind that can develop QBs.
It's a match made in Heaven.

Well, I agree to a certain extent. The People against O kept asking what does he do if Aranda leaves in two years? Well, what does Jimbo do If Aranda leaves in two years? he hires Kelly? hmmmm.

or at least i would hope so anyway.

I'd sure hope not. I'd like to think Jimbo will sever ties with Kelly after this fiasco of a season.

At the moment you get the best man for the head coaching job. There's no guarantees on any coach staying so you always get the best possible at all positions. If Aranda does leave in a couple years, then so be it. Congrats to him. We'll still have Jimbo (or Herman) at the helm and this is the most important position on the coaching staff....ask the New England Patriots why they click every year. Hell, ask Bama. It starts at the top. Thus, the reason Miles is gone.
