Hang on now. Our last head coach didn't hire Aranda. Our administration hired Aranda.

When O was a head coach at Ole Miss he made himself DC for his first two years, failed, and brought in a new guy his last year who produced less results. Even if our administration let O give any input whatsoever, what makes you think he can bring in someone any better than Kelly? We would just have to hope to god that he doesn't put the ole O sales pitch on our administration and convince them that he can do the job himself again.

I don't think any one of them would get the final say here. And if we do have a failed DC, at least with Jimbo we'll still be productive on offense without having to rely on that coordinator too.

Maybe produce a Top 20 defense (nationally) like his current DC is doing in spite of those useless stats you just put out.

Top 20 defense
Looked great against Navy and SMU. They're top 20 with fricking Lamar and Texas St. on their schedule, not to mention the scrubs that pushed their shite in. I'd still prefer Herman over O though.

What makes people think Herman will get to choose a DC? Even Saban had to work hard to convince Alabama to bring in Kiffin. These things are not decided by one person. Our administration has proven to be pretty successful bringing in DCs.

There's a person in Ruston with considerable knowledge on who the next coach will be.

Heard back from my source today, he told me "More serious talks are being made as the end of the season is approaching, Jimbo is definitely the top candidate. LSU already has an offer very similar to last year and are very close to finalizing it" Just wanted to share this relevant information with y'all.

So it sounds like Jimbo is their guy. How confident are you in this source? Thanks for the info.

Pretty confident man, I don't think he would share inaccurate information.

Awesome. I would be thrilled with Jimbo. Do you think he knows about if Jimbo and LSU would make sure to keep Aranda?

U won't find a coach with a better record than miles. It's about offensive & qb success. Fisher would probably do what miles did in the sec the difference being he would develop a solid qb consistently.. with the talent we bring on defense imo fisher would be winning championships every so often where miles woukd contend but that one or two games when we need a qb to put the team on his shoulders wouldn't happen. I think we've been a qb away from sec/national titles several times since 2007. If we get fisher I'm confident he would get Lsu to the playoffs within his first few years. We are loaded with talent. He would contend right away.

I rather Herman by far, but would not be disappointed if it's Fisher.

I don't know for sure, but I certainly hope that is the plan. Aranda must be retained at all costs.
