They interviewed him for roughly 2 hours, here are the highlights related to ongoing events.
On future job prospects:
- Recently moved back to Baton Rouge, in preparation for hopefully getting another job
- Says he doesn't have to work, but wants to
- Lane Kiffin called him to ask his thoughts about the LSU job, but hasn't been in contact about a job on the current staff. O says he gave Kiffin "nothing but rave reviews".
- Says he's fine with being a defensive line coach or recruiting coordinator, but wants it to be at a major school that has the power and recruiting base to compete for a national championship
- Says he respects them but would never coach at Alabama, no matter what
- Doesn't want a head coach to be intimidated by his presence on the staff
- Schools he specifically mentioned he'd be interested in working for:
USC
LSU
Penn State
Ohio State
Florida
Nebraska (a bit tongue in cheek)
- He would also be interested in returning to Tennessee
On Lane Kiffin:
- Lane treated him with the utmost respect, he was like head coach #2 on the staff
- Great, great recruiter, great evaluator
- He's a great offensive mind, he can see all 22 in slow motion and he's going to get you
- Says they have a great relationship, Lane has "always" asked him to go with him and to be on his staff.
- Says Lane was having personal issues while at USC and recommended O to replace him after being fired
On NIL:
- Says it does matter, but if the money is close, all the old recruiting advantages still matter

Maybe, or maybe he just has nothing to do and really wants to coach football like he’s done his entire adult life.
I really don’t know, but these guys are maniacal. He’s probably bored as shite and wants to coach ball. Whether he needs the money or not

I just don’t really understand why it matters. Maybe he needs money, maybe he doesn’t, maybe he just wants to coach again. Does it really matter?
