Supposedly $40M for NIL.

There's a difference between doing this for one year and doing this every year. Pretty much no program, especially Ole Miss, is going to be able to sustain this number long term in addition to paying sky high head coach and assistant salaries.

No school can sustain this. But lots of idiot boosters can. Every school has some. And that’s where we are now. Idiot billionaires trying to buy championships. The common fan is just along for the ride.

think this may be Ole Miss last push to keep him. Supposedly $40M (holy shite) for NIL.

Well then he’s not leaving. That’s crazy

Let’s stop pretending players haven’t been getting paid since the early 90’s. So that being cleared up tell me why Ole Miss has won not one ship since then of any kind and still plays in a highschool stadium. For people to pretend ole Miss has the money that the big 7-8 teams in the sec have is literally stupid.

OP is a dumbass. No way OM can sustain $40 MM for NIL, $18 MM for rev share, and at least $22 MM for coaching salaries. They couldn't even sustain it if the $40 MM was NIL and rev share combined. That would be $62 MM per year. Dickie Scruggs and his buddy from Flora would be setting money on fire.

Just another State fan thinking small. Not every SEC school is a poverty-level baseball school.

if you're spending that much, your ROI is the lowest in the conference (maybe the country), and it ain't even close.

He’s right though. That’s not sustainable for any program outside of probably Texas. And even then I doubt they would do it.

ETA: for that amount of money kiffin better produce big results. The days of just being happy to be in the convo are over.

Texas spending is chump change. Just ask all the Ole Miss posters here

I am staying firm on my stance about Lane, but here is the scenario being discussed right now. Lane meets with Ole Miss on Friday. LSU is working to secure Drink, and Scott’s job could be in trouble even with the extension.
This is information, not a prediction.

Sounds like damage control coming from this OM reporter

Chris Low is a veteran reporter for ESPN. A lot of SEC coaches like him and are friends with him. Low is who Nick Saban chose to break the news that he was retiring.

Low is Kiffin's mouthpiece - they are have symbiotic relationship where Chris gets his clicks and Lane gets to control the "unbiased narrative from a national reporter".

Quote your reply:
The players return to campus and resume practice on Sunday

I thought that they had practice at 10 AM today.

You seem to not understand that Friday meeting would happen after today's 10am practice.... Not sure how this is confusing but here we are trying to explain linear time to you.
