That’s not true. Assistant coaches’ contracts have clauses that allow the university to fire them when the HC is fired. LSU fired him and Kelly decided to not re-hire him. Completely different situation than firing someone

I almost feel like this site starts the wheels rolling on stuff like this sometimes. Almost too much of a coincidence that weeks ago Jackson's names starts being talked about that he would be good here. Either administration reads this site or someone from this site feeds administration info from TD

Totally disagree. If a new coach comes in and the previous assistants are not retained, they are not considered "fired".

He’s the guy i’ve been banging the drum for more than Corey Raymond. He’d be like a younger Raymond. I’d be fine bringing them both in with one coaching the safeties.

How has Marshall's pass defense been under Chevis?

Well Marshall’s pass def is #56 and LSU is #105
Marshall passes defended is #30 and passes intercepted is #44 (the latter two stats speak more to technique)

He was pretty good his two years at marshall, top 40 in yards per pass attempt allowed.
Kansas was horrendous while he was there. So who knows.
I wouldnt get mad about hiring him, but i wouldnt be ecstatic either

Or it just makes sense. You have a former LSU DB who's doing well coaching DBs at a smaller school. It's not such a crazy idea that more than 1 person can't think of it

Good grief posters on this site are fricking retarded.

You think LSU admin and coaches don't know that a former LSU star is coaching DBs at Marshall? They just happened to see it on a message board?

I wonder how Brian Kelly knew that Frank was coaching at McNeese and would be a great hire at LSU. I guess he saw it on Tiger Droppings?

Honestly I don't know enough about his coaching/recruiting to have an opinion. He's coached at Ball St, Kansas and Marshall.

Just curious what those that are high on Chevis see that makes him a great option.

If new position coaches are already being hired, then House is probably staying on, a new DC would want to do his own hiring I would imagine.
