This is how it is in college football these days with the extended season and playoffs and early signing period. It puts coaches and programs in an awkward spot with timing

I know people are criticizing him over the way everyone found out, but this message is a good start. I would be critical of him if that was it, but he’s meeting with them in-person. His players and staff deserve that. Seems like he’s handling it the right way.

This text is impressive to me. On one hand, it’s what I would expect of a proper leader, but on the other… I’ve seen too many coaches fail to meet that standard.

I'm guessing LSU gave him no choice in the matter they needed to announce a hire for recruiting. It puts him in a bad spot he didn't really have much choice I'd imagine. It's still sad and very assholish to those players who have an opportunity to be in a NC. He handled it the best way he could at least.
