It wasn’t the players fault that Jimbo was the head coach. Jimbo wrecked two programs and you mention NIL?

The schools need to fight back against the large buyouts. The current structure of these contracts isn’t sustainable. It’s bad business.

You imply that NIL is the most important thing for TAMU but then blame the coach for wrecking the program.

Hence my point hat you can have all the NIL talent in the world but it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a coach to put it all together.

Hence my point of AMs performance the last two years

If you have a shitty OL, it ruins the whole offense too.

Yes because the last two years have clearly shown that NIL money is all it takes to be successful in college station.

The right coach can be successful, because last two years has shown that A&M can assemble the talent to win the SECW.

Yes, the OL has been a train wreck. Very poor coaching job there. Jimbo blew it by hiring Addazio and by not recognizing the OL deficiencies and correcting them.

The reality is that the idiot that gave Jimbo the huge extension because of a fluke Covid year is the one saying this.

Why is this moron still allowed to be a part of this decision? Such an A&M thing to do.

I’ve been ridiculed for suggesting results based contracts.

The “market rate” guys will be here shortly to correct us.

I’d even like to see “reverse” bonuses for losing too much.

I don’t understand why people think A&M is a destination coaching job.

They have never won anything. They only have revelance because of how annoying they are.

It’s a upper mid-tier level coaching job at best

The problem is the boosters. They have too much influence. A&Ms biggest asset is their biggest problem, they are too rich. It doesn’t matter who they hire, their history shows that. People aren’t giving millions to not have a voice on things and they have a lot of them. And they are gay. There isn’t a gayer tradition in all of sports than their yell leaders

I don’t see why they or Mississippi State wouldn’t pull the trigger on Willie Fritz. A consistent winner at every stop at every level. Neither will do it, though, because he’s what, early sixties?

“He'll do whatever the big money boosters tell him to do.”

Absolutely. He has as much control over this process as I do. The problem comes in in that the big money boosters can’t agree on anything and they aren’t football people to begin with. They are about making money.

My guess is they are worried programs will negative recruit based on his age. It’s one thing to be Saban with his skins on the wall but to be 63 and never coaching in the Power 5? I could see that causing some pause in recruits.
