Supposedly the word is "show stopper" Dabo, Jimbo. Or Stoops IMO. Announcement soon

1. of those names only Dabo would be considered a shocker...and that guy has no reason to leave his current job.
2. There won't be an announcement soon unless it is Bob, in which case God help us.

I’d say Bob Stoops has more parallels with Pelini than does Petersen

Would make sense after this mid season move. Can announce Ed gone, but salvage the recruits by naming a guy who isn’t currently invested with a competing program.

Chris Petersen made it a point to say he is fully retired and has no plans on coaching again.

Interview with Petersen at beginning of the year with Cowherd. Pretty impressive. Talks about state of college football and getting time to build culture in the program.

9 mil/year can change someone's mind very quickly

Granted, he probably already has more money than he can spend, but never say never.

Petersen is not going to move to Louisiana. He's not going to trade one piece of shite democrat Governor for another.

at this time its not starting to be anyone. He is just starting the vetting process much less started interviewing. A canidate like aranada, tucker, franklin, napier etc could all tank like crazy and be out the picture completely.

he has atleast 5 weeks to get everything done. Some of you need to calm down with the feelings that it will be this person or that person.

Bob Stoops is the Jon Gruden of college football.

Not anything special and the more he turns down jobs, the more teams and media obsess over him.

he may have 2 grand slam candidates that he's had on his list since before the season. if they say no, then you're doing your vetting.

Petersen would be extremely surprising. Stoops would be disappointing and surprising at the same time. He's been out of coaching too long.

I know Woodward said last night that the search "starts now", but I don't believe that given the timeline of events.

There were rumors coming into the season that Orgeron was on a short leash, and it got even shorter after UCLA. Before the Kentucky game, national media was saying the likelihood of LSU having a coaching vacancy had gone from possible to inevitable. Then I think Moscona said last week that Woodward had called Saban.

There's no way he wasn't already working and vetting a shortlist before Sunday's announcement.

You do realize LSU and everyone else are about to get paid with OK and Tex joining the SEC? Plus the playoffs will always have an SeC team or 2 every single year. If they expand it to 8, it'll definitely be 3 minimum. That equates to more money coming. I believe the conference eventually will split into 4 divisions at 4 team per with 16 teams.

Doesn’t Petersen have a kid (probably grown now) with some rare disease that is treated by a Dr. in Seattle?

I think that “kid” is fully recovered (from cancer) and in his mid 20s by now.

A rare form of spinal cancer. The reason Peterson left Boise is because of the Doctor being in Seattle.
