Based on The Lebby deal apparently being done, how do you rate OU’s recovery?

I would be happy if I were an OU fan. Cautious optimism.

They keep Caleb Williams and I'd say they're in better position now than they were with Riley. The team should be better balanced with the Venables/Lebby pairing.

Recruiting took a huge blow with Riley taking his shite to USC, but it will improve.

Defense we know will get better just by how we know Venables is compared to Grinch.

The new coach is always sexier than the coach that dumped you

OU fans say they hit a grand slam but the facts are Riley was in the playoffs and one play from a NC game in his first year

So they better hold BV to the same standards.

Too soon to tell but I know OU will go back to being a tougher, more physical football team like the 2000’s. No clue about Lebby and his offense. We’ll see..

Let’s see how recruiting plays out. Riley was going really well, especially on the west coast. I would expect the team to obviously be tougher.

Except they aren't going to be playing in the BIG 12 anymore. Apples and oranges.

They have one of the best defensive minds in the country and now have one of the better offensive minds in the country.

I'd say 10/10

The fact that we’re not all shitting on it in unison means they prob did pretty damn good.

Lebby is an outstanding hire for Venables, IMO. Remains to be seen how Brent runs a program but Lebby is a great person to put in charge of the side of the ball that Venables isn't as experienced with.

They can potentially be better. I never was as crazy about LR as a lot of people on here.

If BV can shore up the defense they will be a threat next season.

I was thinking hiring Lane would have been a home run for them. But they got the next best thing in lebby. And they have a great defensive mind also.

But neither one has run a program from the bottom up. So no way to know how this will work out.

Venables looks pretty methy to me. He's way too wired to be a HC imo.

I've always wondered what kind of HC Venables would be. I guess we'll find out.

There's a huge potential for him to be like Muschamp and should have remained as DC.

I like Lebby, but if Venables simply says "you run the offense and I'll run the defense", that'll be trouble.
