I think candidates that would jump ship are waiting to see what jobs open up and/or waiting to coach their bowl games. I wouldn’t be surprised if A&M and LSU don’t fill those positions until after some of the big bowls.

I don't think it's Denbrock. I believe you guys are getting misled because he makes too much sense for BK. I'm hoping he's targeting a younger guy, more dynamic, and a better recruiter.

Possible. The names that were given to me for OC were

Denbrock, Briles, and Ruggiero.

But Denbrock should be considered the favorite from that bunch at this point.

It really doesn't matter...This board is in the honeymoon phase with Kelly so they will suck him off for every move he decides to do at the moment.

Kelly was brought in to make decisions that only an experienced, professional head coach can do well. If an internet fan board were qualified to make those choices, Orgeron would still be the coach. All this judgment before all the pieces are in place by a bunch of couch coaches is laughable. Even after the staff is complete, we won’t know until we see the results. Either he knows what he is doing or he doesn’t. It does no good to assume he doesn’t and start second guessing before he’s even started.

Ding ding ding. BK hasn’t been the LSU coach for TWO full weeks yet. It’s not like he magically knows everything about LSU. Coming in, he likely has to spend time in countless meetings with executives or boosters, he’s had press conferences, he’s likely getting to know the players, he’s been out recruiting.

Lots of hats is my point. Unlike the ogre, he’s also doing a thorough coach for coordinators. Maybe they’re on playoff or NFL teams, who knows. Have some patience and go take a walk, give the man a chance to find who he wants. He’s already made some solid hires and we’ve no reason to think that won’t continue in due time. No need to rush the wrong fit if a better one is an option.

Supposedly according to internet rumors Monken is /was #1 target- wants to get away from Kirby
Monken and Kelly know each other well
Some say he’s still in play
Some say Georgia gave him a huge raise and he backed out

Starting to get a little worried.

Why? They won't be coaching the bowl game and we are 9 months away from next season.

Is signing a fricking Coordinator that a message board recommends and stresses about more important than hiring the right guy to get the right players to win championships????

Difficult to say, but it’s definitely being used to negatively recruit us

You realize we pay more for assistants than 99.9% of every other college in the country. You think we can't at least find a good to very good coordinator?

Neither, it's simply a matter of "it is, what it is".

The 2021 bowl game is irrelevant. The 2022 season will be a paradigm shift away from what things were.

One thing I think a whole lot of people are missing, is that this isn't going to be a quick fix. You don't hire a guy like Kelly and give him a 10 yr contract, to do that. He's here to completely tear down the program from top to bottom, and rebuild it in his system. We haven't seen that at LSU since Saban came.

If it were simple tweaking and attempting to stay what we had been, you would have seen a guy like Napier, would have kept (promoted?) Raymond, etc. Which would have been, trying to restore the last remnants of the old program Saban and Miles built, with new blood in charge.

Kelly is coming in to fundamentally change the program. I guess the idea is, LSU has shown it can be consistently very successful with a competent, professional system in place, so we went out and got a guy with exactly that.

Well the negative recruitment horse left the barn a long time ago. That's even more reason why we shouldn't rush the hire this late in the cycle, it's not going to make a huge difference.

This class is what it is, you try to keep the ones we have, take some shots at undecideds, and hit the transfer portal hard.

Depends on if your a typically millennial instant result and gratification person or a level headed person who understands that Brian Kelly is building a staff for a future and not for 1 recruiting cycle!!!!
