LSU has not lost a single game in two seasons bc of defensive failures in Arandas two seasons at LSU. And he’s kept us competitive in some games where the offense could do literally nothing.
The one game he got pantsed was Miss St this year, and in hindsight it’s pretty clear that entire game was on O not having the entire team ready to go mentally and physically.

Honestly, he's not real impressive.
He has not fielded a Defense ranked less that #15 overall since 2012. That includes a stint at Utah State...
2012 - Utah State - 15th
2013 - Wisconsin - 9th
2014 - Wisconsin - 9th
2015 - Wisconsin - 2nd
2016 - LSU - 5th
2017 - LSU - 12th
I guess you don't like Top 15 defenses from defensive coordinators?

Maybe he wants to stay put for another year or 2 and position himself to take O's job if LSU's record doesn't improve over the next 2 years.

He made a comment that he's not use to having to tell players where to stand on the field. Something in regards to Mile's recruits.
I really think he's a strategist and that's where he has the most enjoyment, therefore making the NFL his ideal landing spot. The actual coaching up of players rudiments and recruiting is probably not what makes him happy.

As he got settled in, there were several stories that he had promised his wife & kids that he would be at LSU for 5 yrs unless the NFL came calling. He jokingly made a big deal of "finally putting a tv up on the wall" . They had moved around quite a bit & wife is anxious to settle down with the kids. He's also called the Professor for several reasons, one being that he prefers to close his door & work/think on his own. Not exactly a social butterfly as a result & a HC has to have above average social skills. For bama fans not to be "impressed", guessing they forget that his defense held bama to its lowest scoring game in..what, decades..when it held that offense to only 10 points, all coming in the last half of the last quarter. Completely shut down Hurt. Pretty impressive to most college football fans.

who gives a shite. shut up, no one needs to know about this guy. like the stat bama fan said, "he's not real impressive"
He's not. Nothing to see here. Move along. I hear that Kiffin guy is interested and will stay longer than a year. Schiano is available . Les has a want.
They can just keep going. Aranda is ours.

You’re not very perceptive,are you?

I like Dave and Matt. Both have the same problem neither appear to be ace recruiters.

Yea, read the same about John Chavis while he was at LSU.
Exactly. Every coach they have is the GOAT until they leave, then they are garbage and LSU didn't want them. Next up? Matt Canada come on down!

Bro we hated Cam Cameron, Kevin Steele, Gary Crowton, coach Stud.
Chavis started feeling heat after the 2013 Bama game, and then his pissed on LSU on his way out so there's an extra level of vitriol.
Aranda is the real frickin deal

quote:This has probably already been mentioned, but the man is waiting to replace O. He's not stupid. The writing's on the wall.
Unless hes interviewing very quietly with some school, I’m somewhat surprised he had gotten NO mention as even a possibility to fill one of these spots.
Anyone have a theory? Doesn’t want to be a HC? Doesn’t want to be a HC in CFB? Wants to eventually be a DC in NFL?

Obviously Aranda has not advised his agent to shop him around yet. He is also the highest assistant coach in the US, and a lot of HC positions that he might be able to get pays 1/2 of this.

Weren't he and Harmon close friend? Could he just be waiting to jump to UT ??
