Yea, read the same about John Chavis while he was at LSU.

Not his last two seasons. Before that, probably, but he delivered numbers to match at the time.

As for Aranda, I know he locked Auburn down tight for a half. Did you guys manage that?

Honestly he's ( Aranda) not that impressive.

Stat19, you were not impressed that Aranda held us, Bama, to 10 points in 2016 and did a good job on our offense this season as well? If Aranda can't impress you then you probably think Elizabeth Hurley is ugly as hell too?

Uhm...The last thing Aranda wants to be is a head coach because he hates the lime light.

Probably because he is the next head coach at LSU. Doesn't he have the tag as dual head coach. He will make a good head coach one day.

Saban held Bama to 10 last year and 24 this year. Bama never felt threatened by LSU’s offense. So Bama kept conservative against LSU both years. When the game got tight in Tuscaloosa this year and Bama got good field position, they scored very quickly then shut it down again.

Defensive coaches don't get the interest they used to

Kirby?
Kevin Steele?
Muschamp?
Saban?
Venables?
Brian Kelly?
Charlie Strong?
Grantham?
Diaz?
Schiano?

Some of these guys are head coaches that do VERY well, or they've been mentioned this year in coaching searches.

Best thing Coach O has done is keep him out of these coaching vacancies.

I pray to 8 pound 6 ounce newborn infant Jesus that this thread is actually a good gauge of the interest in Aranda.

I get the impression that Aranda is the kind of guy that has a white board in his home office with his entire career mapped out on it.

Would actually agree at this point. Shame because he's more knowledgable than the majority of coaches with HC jobs, including ours.

I think some are assuming that. He seems like a patient guy that knows he can make a killing here until that perfect job he wants becomes available. Worked out for Kirby Smart

Aranda is a film junkie who hates the spotlight.

DC is where he fits. NFL DC is his next stop.

And he's the best DC in LSU history IMO.

Honestly, it feels like we should be even stingier at times. However, his consistency despite personnel (of course, we have elite players at LSU) shifts is outstanding.

The fact he can call a balanced, aggressive or passive defense from play to play, series to series, game to game is pretty impressive as well - he's not married to a single style of defense.
