What indications? Were you sitting at the Freeman family dinner table while they discussed the pros and cons of the LSU job vs the Notre Dame position? Or are you just parroting bullshite you heard or read to make yourself feel better about coming in second? Just because he made some perfunctory, canned statements out of common courtesy to staff members or O doesn't mean he fell head over heels in love with LSU.
He probably wanted the ND job but came to check out LSU to do his due diligence. If he and Sexton could parley that visit to sweeten the deal in South Bend; all the better.

Because attention whores love leaking information. The amount he offered Freeman was bound to be shared. Guy #2 is going to be offered less. That will be leaked also. The difference in the offer would make it clear who was #1, and who is #2. So why pretend the truth can be concealed?

I don’t know that Orgeron’s comments did anything to lose Freeman, though. Ultimately if he was going to shop the offer, he could do it regardless of what Orgeron said publicly.
My issue with O’s comments is that he may have hampered our ability to get someone else. First off, whoever interviews from here on out knows we are getting desperate. Second, if I’m a defensive coach and I’m weighing two equally enticing offers, I’m probably not going with the one where the entire fan base is going to be disappointed from day one.

I think after freeman visited lsu, ND called him back after they heard he was signing with LSU and offered him more money.
Maybe he doesn't like the rumors of O liking trump and not marching.
Maybe it's because ND had a better D. They only allowed 31 to Bama while we gave up 55

This is what happened. The Cincinnati LB group said Freeman told them he was leaving for LSU yesterday mid day
ND came back with a closer offer - LSU's was still higher but his family would rather be in Midwest, closer to home
