Anti-Coach O crowd

Why do you guys not like him? I have tried to piece it together, but there are a lot of different reasons.
ETA: To clarify
1.) Like as in like him as a HC
2.) I realize his history in SEC has been bad, but it's also been almost a decade and he's admitted to not knowing everything and therefore not going to try like he did before.
Just curious as what are some reasons to currently dislike him as HC of LSU.

He was a HC in the SEC for 3 years.
It didn't go well
Look it up.
we shouldn't hire a coach with 16-27 record.

I love coach o.
You don't fire Les Miles to hire coach o.

Everyone LIKES him. I hope he stays at LSU for 20 years. But...

I'll wait and see what he can do for the rest of the season, but he was awful at Ole Miss.

I don't dislike him. I think he's great and hope he's at LSU until he retires.
But not as HC. This job is too big for him and I don't think we should be settling for Coach O.

I don't think there is a dislike for Coach O. I think a lot are confused as to why so many want him to be the permanent head coach.
Let me ask this, if O wasn't already on the staff, would we be clamoring to hire him as our head coach right now? If the answer is no, why not?
Its not that he's not a viable candidate, but there are many other options out there that LSU needs to exhaust before they even take a look at Coach O.

He hasn't even coached a game at LSU yet. Let's see how he does he does on the field here before we start pumping him up for full time head coach.
People on this board have become so infatuated with the newness of it that they are way over rating the guy before he's coached a game.
ETA: I expect LSU to come out and play really well these next few games, but at some point that energy and newness will wear off and we will see what type of coach he really is.
ETA2: I'm not trying to write the guy off just yet because his time at Ole Miss was a long time ago, but I'm worried that an 8 game sample size isn't enough. Being an interim head coach is MUCH different than being a full time head coach. I would love to have him here as an assistant for a long time, but I'd like to see him get a head coaching shot somewhere, just not here. It's too big of a risk.

I'll clarify my post. I know about Ole Piss, but USCw liked him and he claims to have matured. He's spent some time under different coaching styles to learn from.

Because he is not an SEC caliber HC in today's SEC. He will get outcoached week in and week out. Great position coach/recruiter/HC in smaller conference. Not an SEC HC.

Since 6-2 at USC is the new motto, i looked it up...
Arizona - W 38-31
Notre Dame - L 14-10
Utah - W 19-3
Oregon State - W 31-14
Cal - W 62-28
Stanford - W 20-17
Colorado - W 47-29
UCLA - L 35-14
With the talent on that USC squad, this is not that impressive.

What i said in a different thread
Winning a few games in one season is a whole lot different that running a program year in and year out. He has done nothing to deserve this job in his past and nothing he will do this year in these few games will change that. He is a great choice to finish this thing out this season but would be a horrible choice for the full time job, if he wasn't a coonass from Louisiana NONE of you would want him and that's a pretty dumb reason to give someone a job

Fair enough. Still a lot of speculation.
Would you say it's safe to say that fear based speculation is the leading force behind the anti-CEO for permanent HC duties?

It is actually better than I thought actually. The Stanford win is legit.
Edit: I still think he has to go at least either 7-1 with a loss to Bama or 6-2 with a win against Bama (and only one loss in November) to earn the job.

He spent time with Lane Kiffen....
It's not a maturity thing. It's whether he is capable of running a program.
The only reason anyone mentioned him for the USC job was that he pulled one out against Stanford. Otherwise he beat shite teams

How is that more speculative than saying he is the right hire before he's coached a game here?

The stats are misleading too. What caliber team did he have for those wins/losses? Did he have coaches around (Aranda, Jenkins, etc) that knew the game and had the brains to make competent decisions?
All I am saying is that this is uncharted territory for the guy and it could work quite nicely with a few additions to his staff. Just don't understand why the speculative distrust is for him.

When did the narrative on O change? For years he was known as a great, albeit shady (as in almost Trooper level shady), recruiter but not much of a defensive line coach. He got run out of the Saints because you actually have to, you know, coach to be on an NFL staff. His Ole Miss debacle is well-documented. His DL this year hasn't been anything spectacular; they got pushed around by Wisky and couldn't get off the field vs. Auburn.
So when did he become the Don Shula/Tom Landry/Bill Belichick of DL coaching?

He brought in Pete Jenkins, just like he has done here. He had Clancy Pendergast at DC (who many people wanted here when Chavis left). Helton was the OC
