If Miles leaves (and I know he probably isn't) what about him? 36 years old and has been talked about for numerous NFL jobs last year and this year. Spent 3 years at LSU to start his career. If Manning is on his way out, I think he could be a huge hire.

It would be in the best interest of this program to hire a proven winner on the college level. Noway, I would want to hire a pro guy who has had zero head coaching experiance. Thats a disaster waiting to happen. Hire Jim Mora Jr and count your lucky stars he said yes. Guy would be the perfect hire!!

Gase is an interesting coach, I believe he worked under Saban as a GA at Michigan State. I read an article about him last summer, a lot of coaches (college and pro) really like him and think he has a bright future ahead of him. Manning raves about him, which is a plus. He won Manning over very quickly. I don't think it would be wise to hire him, mostly because he hasn't recruited and probably wants to stay in the NFL. I think he'll be looked at for HC jobs in the near future.

That's the kicker. This guy has no interest in coaching college ball right now. He's married into NFL coaching as well (his wife is Joe Vitt's daughter). He's gonna get a NFL hc job in the next 2 offseasons.

The offensive coordinator for Denver is Manning. This guy is a place holder there.

Manning even made Caldwell look like a good coach for a year.

And Caldwell made Flacco look like a good QB for a playoff run

He would consider it for his family. LSU sent him a feeler back in July. It may not be this year, but if he's not NFL in two years. He will take Miles' place in 17.

I disagree with that.

Mora is a mult-time loser as a head coach...and his "success" at UCLA is pretty limited at a time when USC is down.

I don't think Mora is a great coach at all.

Don't think Gase leaves the NFL ranks. His name has come up in a lot of searches recently. I know he was a GA in Saban's first years, but the only real ties he has left to the state is that he's the son in law of Joe Vitt.

Mora is a defensive coach. And, the defenses in the PAC 12 are pretty bad. So, their offense is a bit overrated, IMO.

solid defense

68h overall. 86th in passing defense (Mora's supposed specialty)

Kenny Young? Anyone else?
