Full disclosure of the money flow in college sports ( basically NIL) will permanently destroy the locker room. Teammates and the teammates families will always wonder why they are not getting theirs. I have one family member and an old teammate of mine who are currently involved in the SEC. Each of them have said cliques within the locker room have come down to the have and have nots.

Before, you can deny it if you were a top player receiving all the spoils. Now, you can’t. Imagine being the one receiving all the top benefits and you’re not producing.

The real problem hasn’t been mentioned. This guy Peyou has been in the school system. With this raise he now gets to retire at his highest salary. One board member passed away, maybe two more have decided to not run again. Therefore, this new contract/raise was pushed before members leave.

This guy will retire with a large retirement salary and vermilion will be on hook for 3 or 4 retired superintendents.

While watching the prep playoff pairing show, Louisiana Football magazine guy said he will be national recruit in coming years. Remember he’s only a sophomore. Word is Vermilion Catholic has a good looking Freshman to go along with Jaime Howard’s boy (ascension episcopal) who’s in 8th grade. Acadiana area will have 3 good ones

For their age groups, Walker Howard and the Freshman from Vermilion Catholic (not sure of his name) are the top QB’s in the Acadiana area.

I dont disagree with you. However, You do have an inaccuracy, Jason Kidd is a year older. Livingston shared POY award with him as Jr and Wallace as Sr. Others had Darnell Robinson ( Arkansas ) as POY for that class.
