Aranda may very well stay put, but there certainly appears to be something going on here.

No one is doubting that A&M is trying another run at Aranda but Liucci saying Aranda didn't turn down the initial offer is false.

Ahhhh, I didn't realize that was the point being debated.

I haven't seen him comment on that on his website, but I certainly could have missed it.

Your team paid an above average coach 75 million dollars guaranteed and now you want to pay a Defensive Coordinator 10 millon guaranteed. That reeks of desperation.

You need to understand who you are talking to.

The Texas A&M family is a "different" group. They've never really cared about looking bad. They have been pummeled year after year by UT but they keep getting up and mouthing off asking for more.

This is the program that had uber-effeminate male cheerleaders that the entire program responds to waaaaaay before being gay was fashionable.

And, if you ever have been to an A&M game, there is simply a weirdness vibe to it.

I think most programs would be a bit embarrassed by continuously offering a ton of money to a conference rival to steal their coach. It's kind of an admission of inferiority and and acknowledgement of the fact that they can't build a program any other way.

But, A&M simply doesn't care. It's who they are.

Guaranteed HC stability could also mean a quicker replacement of coordinators if things aren’t going well. They’ll take the fall since HC is so rooted.

I'm told that in addition to being offered a 'substantial' sum of money, A&M also told Dave Aranda he could hand pick his staff.

Could be the deal-maker, along with the Administration in total SNAFU.

It's not like Canada was allowed to bring in any of his guys.

O is no different than Les (my way or the highway).

The Aggies are so desperate to win they are willing to pay anything. Lol.

Jim Leonhard is getting just as good of results at Wisconsin as Aranda did. Aggies have such little dick syndrome I think they would rather overpay than make the smartest move.

Bon voyage, Corey Raymond?

No kidding, this would be disastrous and therefore I fully expect it now.

I don't believe this. No head coach does this. Especially not Jimbo, who is secure and doesn't have to.

It is idiotic for a head coach to cede that much control to an assistant.

Let's say Aranda hired a full defensive staff loyal to him. He leaves for a HC or even another DC job and takes his entire defensive staff with him.

When people say it is not about the money.

You better believe it certainly is.

"No state taxes"

Texas has some of the highest property taxes in the U.S. The average effective property tax rate in the Lone Star State is 1.94%, the 4th highest rate of any state. Those taxes are the primary source of revenue for local governments, and fund local services like schools, water systems and law enforcement.

Work in a housing deal. If Aranda wants to go and A&M wants him——-They will work out the money to a point where we will not match.

Bunch of IF’s. But......

There's a reason A&M won't go away. Think about that.
