Right after Kelly was fired, we started to see dozens of "get SABAN" threads pop up daily on the Rant, and most of them were saying "watch how Bama fans will melt when he comes back". It wasn't just a suggestion on getting a coach, it was that we'd make the Gumps cry.
After a week or so of talking shite about it, reality has finally kicked in for those dumbasses- we're not going to hire a 74 yr old retiree, put him in a time machine back to his early 60's, and restore "the Saban empire" at LSU. It was a childish and stupid thing to yap about as much as our base did, and it's provoked a fairly justified response.
What sucks to me, I think we started out with a pretty decent shot at grabbing Kiffin from Ole Miss. But between the crap with the Governor and the AD, and the delusions of grandeur from the fans, I think he's leery of stepping into this mess.

When the news came out that Saban was listening to LSU, Alabama had the highest internet activity about the subject outside of LA.

That all got clarified today. They formally announced the AD and he has full authority from the president of the university and the board to go hire the coach. He also has the backing of the people with the money. We aren't a dumpster fire. I know Bama fans want that for LSU, but it's not accurate, no matter how many times you get on the forum and say it.
